October 25th, 2010 07:36 PM #1Hi all!
Anyone know what ATF and DIFFERENTIAL Oil the Owners Manual recommends for a late 1970`s Automatic 280 SLC? Also how many liters needed of each for a fluid change? Thanks!

October 27th, 2010 08:42 AM #3Hi RONW!
Actually i checked with CATS and VELODOUR and they both dont have the factory reccomended DIFFERENTIAL oil on stock.
Based on your username, i assume you dont have the SLC. So are you implying that the DIFFERENTIAL oil on your car is the same one for the 280 SLC? I realize SAE 90 is standard for lots of car makes, but just wanted to be absolutely sure what would be good for our slc.
What MOBIL ATF do you use by the way, or is there only one kind for mercedes benzes?
How many liters of each do i need for a lube change? THANKS!

October 28th, 2010 01:23 AM #4I use the Shell Spirax diff oil on all my 4 Benzes (123, 124, 126, 140) and I checked the manuals of all 4 cars and they all have the same recommendation of SAE 90. On the ATF, I use Mobil 1220.
