    i have a c180 2006 model which has a "humming" or "whining" sound, which needs a differential tapered bearing replacement. can anoyone advise me where can this be done? someone told me that i have to replace the entire differential housing which is too expensive. thanks!

    after a comprehensive check by the mb dealer, it is now clear that only the differential tapered bearing needs replacement. this info can be useful for those who have the rear whining sound problem.
