The movie is profound, but I can't make it more than it is. That's why some people call it heavy handed.

And no it's not because I'm naive to the evils of the rich.

+1000 agree with LM's views, mas magaling siya mag articulate Plus I did not see malice naman, they were sharing thoughts with each other, hindi naman sila naging matapobre

I don't hate the movie. But for best picture I just like jojo rabbit to win. My next favorite is marriage story.

Sabi ko in my previous post the movie is not wrong, tama and relatable yung pagportray ng poor.

Ang pinag uusapan namin ni Jut ay yung hindi ko makita that the movie is about the plight of the oppressed working class.

Kasi to me it showed the ugly side of poverty, the one that will make you turn into scheming and crimes to get by. It showed our current reality, how society look down on the poor.

To be fair to movie makers it's quite difficult to cram all factors of life is a 2 hour movie without making it to crammed and thus feel heavy.

Pacing and being concise is also very important in a movie while sacrificing details.

Kaya siguro hindi masyado napaliwanag side ng both rich and poor sa movie. Just the major assumptions lang na gusto ng filmmaker.

    Mapanood na nga. Hehe.

the fact that it's very hard for poor people to escape poverty is already oppression by the moneyed/ruling class

they're the ones who created the system and the poor are just living in it

the poor figure out ways to game the system so can get some relief from difficult life and maybe break out of poverty

one way is to integrate themselves into the lives of rich people and manipulate them

Here's a review by The Guardian better articulating what I was trying to say in clumsy fashion.
