There are ways around the block. It was part of a report in BBC's CLICK (tech-news show) around three or four weeks ago.

Basically, a VPN or proxy solution to make the NBC server think you are still in the USA.

To download via *******, it's recommended to have an unlimited broadband internet account and a fast one too, although if you are patient (and not sharing the bandwidth), the more basic (cheaper) accounts will do.
