    *****

    Spolarium by Eraserheads

    Dumidilim ang paligid
    May tumawag sa pangalan ko
    Labing isang palapag
    Tinanong kung okey lang ako
    Sabay abot ng baso
    May naghihintay
At bakit ba'pag nagsawa na ako
    Bigla na lang ayoko na

At ngayon Di pa rin alam
    Kung bat' tayo nandito
    Puwede bang itigil muna
    Ang pag-ikot ng mundo

    Lumiwanag ang buwan
San Juan Di ko na nasasakyan
    Ang lahat ng bagay ay
Gumuguhit na lang Sa 'king lalamunan

    Ewan mo at ewan natin
    Sinong may pakana?
    At bakit ba Tumilapon ang
Gintong alak diyan sa paligid mo?

At ngayon Di pa rin alam
    Kung ba't tayo nandito
    Puwede bang itigil muna
    Ang pag-ikot ng mundo

    Umiyak ang umaga (hmm)
Anong sinulat ni Enteng at Joey diyan
Sa gintong salamin Di ko na mabasa
    Pagkat merong nagbura

    Ewan mo at ewan natin
    Sinong nagpakana?
At bakit ba tumilapon ang spolarium
    Diyan sa paligid mo?

At ngayon Di pa rin alam
    Kung ba't tayo nandito
    Puwede bang itigil muna
    Ang pag-ikot ng mundo

Sa palagay ko this song is refers to Senator Vicente Sotto III who called for the banning of "Alapaap"'s airplay, claiming that the song is drug oriented. The band, however, replied to the allegations through a letter to the lawmaker.

...not sure about this, just my own opinion.

I do believe it's true. I remember seeing a pic of joey, vic, and richie being presented to the media. Tapos pinatanggal pa iyong mga articles sa pdi ni tito w/c were discussing pepsi paloma's demise just a few years back.

do what you gotta do so you can do what you wanna do

Ely Buendia debunks ‘Spoliarium’ myth, shares real meaning behind Eraserheads classic

“‘Spoliarium’ is really one of those cases where the myth has sort of taken over the facts and I kinda like it, I kinda like the myth because the actual meaning of the song is just really mundane,”

He then shared that the song was inspired by the liquor, Goldschläger – which is referred to in the song as ‘gintong alak’ (golden booze).

“We were drinking that, and then ‘gintong alak,’ that’s what it meant. It’s all about getting piss drunk. That’s what it’s about,” Buendia said.

He also revealed that the “Enteng and Joey” mentioned in the song were the band’s roadies – and not comedians Vic Sotto (nicknamed Enteng), and Joey de Leon.
