Part of the reason is the previous colonial cross-breeding of Filipinos... If you've noticed, people from countries will less inter-racial cross breeding have more distinct local features whereas Pinays (especially those most consider as "pretty") has a distinct mix of pointy noses, relatively small but round eyes, etc...

I'm not complaining, that's for sure... hehe
