    Yes, the Black Hole wasn't a good movie. The design of the spaceship USS Cygnus was nice, like an industrial cathedral. But the ending! What the heck was that?

    The Black Hole was a bit like 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea (1954). Both were about obsessed men with advanced technology (spaceship in the former, submarine in the latter). And both were made by Disney.

    The 1954 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea is better. Watching it gives you that sense of wonder that all good sci-fi stories do. The Nautilus submarine really looks like a submarine from the 1800s.
