Sean Connery was the quintessential Bond...legend has it that he was actually Ian Fleming's choice.
Roger Moore's time manifested one of the enduring car chases in Bond movies...i heard that he was a professional car race driver...and it was during his time that gadgets galore was the centerpiece on the action episodes.
Pierce Brosnan was supposed to be Moore's replacement but he allegedly declined at first due to other commitments (i.e. Remington Steele, etc) paving the way for Timothy Dalton's appearance.
Daniel Craig's Bond was a sort of makeover on how the spy character is played. Suave moves is replaced by grit and vulnerability.
Critics tagged Timothy Dalton as the Bond with the least impact on the audiences. He seems to struggle with Connery's presence and Moore's way with women.

BTW, the name James Bond is a real name of a person---of a scientist, an ornithologist to be exact--his name caught the attention of Fleming as being very manly.

I have an entire collection of Bond movies, for me....
Sean Connery is still the best Bond.
Most memorable Bond villain is Jaws...in fact he appeared on multiple Bond movies.
Bond girls are too many to recall...but the one with the most impact is Ursula Andress (she started the element of ***iness) and the one that's quite unique is Grace Jones.
As to the Bond movie I like the most....The Spy Who Loves Me... quite a spectacle really.Last edited by Gerbo; November 21st, 2008 at 09:10 PM.

You should see the 1967 Casino Royale. The weirdest James Bond film ever. It's a comedy. Great soundtrack though.
Here's the opening credits:

And here's a car chase sequence from that 1967 movie. James Bond (David Niven) is driving a vintage Bentley.
