Looks like Mazda doesn't have a winner in this one. Apparently with this next-gen Tribby, development costs for Mazda was next to nothing, since Ford picked up the tab–and it shows. The design is clearly a badge-engineering job when compared to the US next-gen Escape. The only obvious difference is the grill. Nawala yung pagka-ZoomZoom at ang boring ng design.

As for Mazda Phils, I say drop the Tribby and bring in the CX-7 as its next-gen replacement.

di ba dapat para maging zoom zoom dapat may bulges & curves??? nagmukhang vanilla SUV na lang ang tribute... lost its character...

The Escape and Tribute has always been a badge engineered vehicle based on CD2 platform of Ford, why should it change now? As far as the CX-7 you're probably looking at a price closer to the Murano rather than the Tribute if it's brought to the Philipines, since the Tribute(CX-5)is slotted below the CX-7 in the model line up.

The new Tribute looks nice to be honest. I don't think Mazda Philippines will replace the Tribute with the CX-7 cause that SUV,the CX-7 is way more expensive(expect prices close to 2M-2.3M) than the upcoming new Tribute.

yeah, i don't think they can replace the tribute with the cx-7. it'll cost too much. but, yes, the new tribby has lost its looks advantage c/o the "zoom zoom" theme of mazda over the new focus.

Looks more like change for the sake of change than anything else. Even though the old Tribute was badge-engineered, at least it looked like a Mazda... this just looks like a rebadged Ford.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

Yeah, I agree. There was some spunk to the current Tribby. It's now as sedate as the Escape it's badge engineered with.
