January 13th, 2006 06:11 AM #11I've tested lots of miata at Enviro Test stations here , And in my 10 years experience doing the test I probably have only come across half a dozen of miata that doesn't make the passing grade. This vehicles emission system never goes out of wack. Very nice and forgiving vehicle.
Power is nothing to brag about, but it's got the power one needs for a transportation.
Handling is superb and very forgiving.....In other words this car is fun to drive
300k-400k is about right for the price of a 10 year old miata.---( wish I can afford one )..I have never heard any horror stories about repairs on this car...this car is for you.......
P.S. we are doing more than 2 million vehicles in this region

Hmmm. I thought a converted Miata is like one I saw where someone dropped in a 220hp Mustang 5.0L V8.....

I know they did a V6 Miata Concept with a Duratec V6.

Yup. AFAIK, Mazda's older turbos are mostly on the 1.8 instead of the 1.6 or the 2.0 engines.
Better nga yung locally sold kaysa conversions, but the asking prices are outrageous.

V8 powered Miatas are available stateside... I think Monster Motorsports is the one doing them.
the regular "upgrade" is a V8 engine swap.
though they also offer a supercharged V8 option which is good for around 400hp.

Best Miata swaps I've seen use the SR20DE or DET, as they can make a lot of power, and still maintain the light weight of the Miata and turbo rotaries (but as these aren't as durable, they're kind of rare).
There was one guy featured in Sport Compact Car who managed to turbo the stock 1.8 up to 400hp.

January 13th, 2006 04:24 PM #18We were offered one, kasi gusto ko rin eh.
An 02 model, pero converted from RHD, for 500k.
What are your thoughts on this guys?
Reliable ba RHD conversion for Miatas?

May nakita akong orig LHD na miata for 300k.
I also saw a converted unit two years ago selling for less than 200. Kaya lang sagwa nung dash conversion. Eunos Roadster badges.
