It is easier to maintain a car that is more common like the Corolla, Sentra or even the Civic.

And the Mazda 323 Familia has it's problem of being a gas guzzler which is very bad when fuel is very expensive.

For a first car/family car, better look somewhere else.

For the budget, you can already get a Civic ESi, Corolla GLi or a Sentra Super Saloon. Those cars will save you less time shopping for parts and maintenance.

Although I've been looking for Mazda parts for quite some time now. They're pretty cheap, reasonably priced if you know where to get them..

And yes, the 323 is quite a gas guzzler. I wish it could be helped..

Get the GLi. The XE still has manual windows and manual key locks. The GLi is feature packed already, which is to the fact the price range of that specific model isn't far from the price range of the Corolla XE.

If you're into modding your vehicle, get the ESi ... your life will be easier that way. Though the ae101 aftermarket mods isn't rare, the ESi parts are still greater in terms of numbers in the aftermarket parts area ... and the list that you could install is endless.

Both are great. Either of the two you opt for, you won't regret it UNLESS the unit you bought is a flooded one. :D
