February 4th, 2019 10:13 PM #845Does anybody have an idea when the 3rd generation CX-5 will come out? The “2nd generation” came out in 2017, so if you assume 5 yrs between generations, 2022 would be most likely launch year...that said, isn’t the 2nd generation CX-5 more of a heavily reworked 1st gen model rather than a true all new model?

February 4th, 2019 10:27 PM #846Mazda’s Skyactive X technology looks promising: diesel-like torque and fuel economy combined with gasoline silence, smoothness and high rev capacity, the best of both worlds. Just bought a diesel CRV S mid-2018. Fuel efficiency is outstanding but the noise of the engine is off putting. Mazda’s Skyactive X could put diesel engines out to pasture if they get it right. Hopefully they iron out the kinks in the Mazda 3 just in time to use it in an all new CX5.
