Your gen1 CRV was a good 1, way better than the gen2. So you're saying you really haven't seen or driven the car you're getting? You might have to manage your expectations as comparing the 6 w/ the CRV won't be apple for apple.[emoji4]

I've heard about it, they say that the first generation is much better. I just don't know why. So far, this CR-V 98 can still run from 160-180 kph. I'll be selling this once I get the new car.
Yes, not all. I haven't seen the real thing. All I have seen are pictures and I relied to online reviews and with what you and others have posted here.
Such a crazy decision, making the purchase without even seeing the unit... all because of the excise tax. I really can't afford to buy a new one next year because of a very tight budget. But then again, this is a good excuse for me to buy this Mazda 6 SKYACTIV-D considering all that I've read about being "in one with the driver".
As you have said, such discovery will come through ownership. So I am eager to share such experience...

I was among the early Skyactiv adopters who didn't have the luxury of long term reviews. I followed closely their development of high compression NA engines w/o the need of high octane fuel. Their diesels moved the opposite way. Amazing engineering that gave the combustion engine some hope for extended stay. Having survived self-maintaining euro headaches, I figured Nippons can't be as bad...at their worst. I jumped head 1st. Luckily, the water was crystal clear & deep.[emoji4]It turned out to be among the best motoring & ownership experiences I've had. Yours should be way better. It's a 6...way above our hobo 1.5 SkyG!!!![emoji106]

I left my work assignment in Manila - Boracay. That means that I can finally drive home the Mazda 6 SKYACTIV-D!

I thought hobo is another slang term, just like "mobo" (motherboard) because I was thinking why did you say that 1.5G is "impoverished". I have to admit that I'm somehow a "cave man" when it comes to online resources. I don't even have Facebook. Now I think I'm starting to understand why people enjoy using Facebook, now that I'm enjoying using this forum (first active forum, literally).
Going back to that word earlier, is there any chance that you are referring to this one?

Speaking of the Ford Mazda era, just wanted to share that we had the worst time with the Mazda Tribute 2.2L. Low torque and gas guzzler. Yun lang
Back to the new Mazda CX5, today is the only time that I got to drive it in the city. No choice coz sira yung isang car namin and coding naman yung isa. Perfect timing pa ang ulan
I love the overall driving experience.
But here are my questions:
1. I-Stop
Why is the i-Stop indicator sometimes lit on when I am driving around 20-30km/h? Hindi ba activated (may ilaw yung indicator) ang i-Stop if we are on full stop?
2. Radio
I can't find the preset buttons to save the radio stations? Or do I save them in the Favorites section?
3. Touch screen monitor
How do I turn it off? I'm old school, I prefer turning off everything before shutting off the engine hehe
Just read the battery problem of the iStop... is still still happening for CX5 owners?Last edited by 3ple4; December 18th, 2017 at 11:54 AM.

Hobo referred more to me & my budget...not the car. Haha. For what I paid, my base 3 gave me all I needed & more.[emoji4]
iStop has been reliable since its introduction. With tightening environmental regulations, there will be no escape....Start/Stop systems will soon come standard in all combustion engined cars.

1.How iStop activates? It’s all in the owner’s manual.... A few things to keep in mind.
-iStop needs a base amount of charge to function, so it becomes operational after the engines warmed up. I-stop is ready when its indicator light eliminates green in the dash.
-The other thing to remember is that i-stop only works when you’ve applied the brake and you’re holding it down.
-The steering wheel needs to be straight, if you turn the wheel significantly when pulling up i-stop wont cut the engine out.
-Also, if the air conditioning is on max settings i-stop wont work. It also won’t work if you’re on an incline, if you’re in reverse, if the doors are open or if the driver’s seat belt is unfastened.
-If you decide at any stage that you want to override the i-stop system, simply press the switch off and the engine operates as normal.
Please refer to the owner's manual for more on this.
2. Add fave stations to FAVORITES.
3. You can turn the touchscreen display off...but it won't function like a regular headunit you're accustomed to. The infotainment does more than just a basic headunit. It's tied to the car's "brain".[emoji4]
4.To keep Start/Stop batts healthy longer, investing in batt conditioners like the CTEK CT5 Start/Stop trickle charger will help.[emoji4]
