Unlike other start/stop systems, Mazda's iStop uses combustion restart.

The OEM battery, you mean. There are alternative EFB and AGM deep cycle batteries. And 'reconfigure' iStop is really just 'resetting' it. There's a DIY tutorial posted in the thread a page back...or all over the NET.

There are equivalent or better EFBs & AGMs out in the market. A Johnson Controls brand has 100D23L EFB available locally (call +639174726847 for details). It's even priced competitively w/ the lower spec'd Motolite D23Q65 EFB for iStop.
Again, I would recommend the CTEK Start/Stop for those w/ this system....whether it's a Mazda, Honda, Bimmer or Merc. It's a worthy lil gadget that will pay for itself.[emoji4]

Short way... Press the Voice command button on the steering wheel. Respond with "What time is it?"

I think I've already tried "Turn off the display" before...and didn't work. At least with the 'Time' method...the screen is 95% off, just the time shown in one of the upper corner of the screen, IIRC.

The Long way is to go to settings...

Was pleasantly surprised that it was not as jarring as I thought it would. Plus it activates based on the final press on the brakes or not. If I don't really push it too far in, the car can still engage the Auto Brake Hold, be at a complete stop, but will not deactivate / turn off the engine. So on traffic crawls...it's not really an issue as i feared.

It's only when I see i have more than 1 minute at the stop light do I engage it. The A/C on Auto still works...
Hmm... never noticed that. I thought iStop activates if you're in neutral or park.

Do you notice how the rpm on the left dial just drops to 0? the green iStop indicator would also be blinking...

They all come with the fitment adapter to slid in place of where normal batteries drop into.

    Hope they've D23 adapter. Some DIN-spec'd fitted w/ Optimas I've seen were squeezed in.[emoji4]
