I wanted to confirm if it's safe to simply replace the battery anytime. I was asking about the PCM if it needs configurations. I heard that a certain car model won't allow you to do it. I mean, if you remove the battery and replace it, you won't be able to use the car without the casa guys doing some kind of resetting.

They said nothing will happen except for the i-Stop. I bought CTEK battery charger, by the way. I use it everyday whenever possible. Someone confirmed in this forum that their battery life was extended from 1 - 2 years.
Worry not about the batt & replacement procedure(there's that DIY). Grab the perfect fit, better spec'd, longer warranty Johnson Controls Delkor EFB for iStop equipped Mazdas from OVTph +639174726847...when need arises.
It's better priced than the hit/miss Motolite EFB exclusively sold thru Mazda dealerships, too. Many are happily on them now....& the CTEK helps.
Reports on longevity of Regular Flooded Batts in place of EFBs on Start/Stop equipped cars have not been encouraging. Some batt dealers are now starting to take notice of the warranty loophole on this forced use.

Hello, can you indicate the specific model of Amaron Pro. Also is it a start-stop battery, if so what kind, EFB or AGM? If it's a regular lead acid, let me know how it performs on your 6 as I have seen posts from CX-5 users using Amaron. Thanks.

This might be helpful for a touch up paint.
