I used to set it to the highest position but then I tend to slouch so I dialled it down 12-15 counts, still I find myself slouching. So I tried the lowest position and I loved it. For me, it felt perfect and you are right, I can stretch my legs. Jinba ittai perhaps.

Also, I can feel more of the car and the road.

This is the default and only seat position in the MX5. The seat can't be raised in this car.

Hehe. MX5 headroom is limited. Opposite to cycling where the saddle height is ideally taken where the legs are almost at full extension when a pedal is closest to the ground, the sweet drive seat spot is almost always found at the lowest for me.

I used to drive with this low seat position. I find it comfortable for long highway driving. In a bumper to bumper traffic condition, it's kind of hard to see the front sides of the car.
