Waze never recommends it. Magreredirect lang if you’re already on the road itself.
It’s longer by distance and typically longer by travel time in most cases except peak season when Marcos is clogged up.
Natry na namin yan ng friend ko, sabay from Pugo junction, I took Tuba-Asin, they took Marcos. Sabay lang dumating even if I was driving fast already.

Beautiful view along Tuba-Asin Road:
Narrow 2-lane road though and lots of corners.

was at Baguio last Nov (when restrictions eased) and going up and down was very enjoyable, wala kasing provincial buses tapos reduced din public transport.
sometimes I wish na may road to Baguio na only private cars are allowed

minsan naiisip ko na ang swerte ng car buyers ngayon. we have numerous choices at every price range tapos even entry level cars are "ok"
wala pa akong nadrive na modern car (2015 and newer) na I can declare "under-powered"
gone are the experiences of driving a 57hp 4 speed 70's Beetle or the '76 Tamaraw with a 3K engine? The 2E on the XL/XL E100 was also not an enjoyable drive.

I used to be adventurous din (had an old J40 Land Cruiser back in the day) but compared to then and now where people are depending on you, I don't think I'd chance this road with just one vehicle, kahit daytime pa. Another thing, is there cell site coverage?
I also wonder what would happen if may big vehicle na nag stall and the road were blocked? There doesn't seem to be a shoulder on the side of the road to go around it, even if you could shift to 4L drive
More info please, as I'm curious.
Let us know how it goes.
