What's the car? What's your top speed when you drive? Obviously there's something wrong with the alignment, and band aid solution lang yung sinabi ng mechanic.

    as shadow says, "check alignment".
camber siguro. masyadong pike ang gulong.
puede ring toe-in masyado, lalo na kung may feathering.
but if your car is still new-ish, warranty might still cover alignment adjustment for free.

and while you're at it, check tire pressure at baka under-pressure.

never mind the band aid. hindi yan tatagal sa gulong.

    good luck.

Happened to me once. My Westlakes were only around 8tkms in but had used up half of the tread at least on the outer half. Apparently the car was in need of alignment, but I didn't notice because it still ran in a straight line. Ended up replacing the tires anyway at my father's insistence (he drives the car occasionally and often on farther distances Uneven wear of tires).

If the treadwear isn't too bad you can just turn it around. Alignment in my suki shop is only P400. Its when camber is involved that it gets a bit expensive. But then that is maintenance you shouldn't be scrimping on.

Pa wheel alignment muna. Ganun din mangyayari sa gulong na kapalit pag rotate kung hindi aligned.

Improper tire alignment causes your tires to wear unevenly and prematurely. I think this is the reason of your car problem. What your mechanic recommended is fine. However, I suggest you include tire alignment on your maintenance schedule regularly to avoid this problem as it's risky to drive with uneven tires. Hope it helps!
