I would rather go for Rota. Its tried and tested for our bad roads.
I had a set of light weight alloy rims from Taiwan. Affordable but deforms under typical daily driving use.
Eventually one of the wheels developed a couple of cracks on the lip. Although it didn't leak air, it will be stupid and dangerous to keep using it. I bought a set of Rota wheels to replace them.Last edited by ghosthunter; February 7th, 2011 at 01:21 AM.

If we're talking the same price range, ROTAs, hands down. They're not as durable as the best imported wheels, but anything better is often two to three times the price. Compared to other "cheap" aftermarket wheels, ROTAs are usually lighter, stronger and more durable.

We're lucky to have a reputable local manufacturer of wheels. Rota gets my vote of course!
I'd surely wish they'd produce their own designs though!
