I had it checked by a vulcanizing shop and only a third of the piece of metal went through, so the damage to the rubber was minimal. After applying sealant via heat press, the tire was back to normal again at 38 PSI.

My question is, can I still use the tire as I did before the puncture? Since it wasn't the sidewall that was damaged, and since the metal didn't pierece through too deeply, the guy who repaired it says it shouldn't be a hazard.
I'd like to know what you guys think.

If it helps, I travel about 100 km a day, mostly provincial highway. About once a month, I travel via land from Bicol to Manila and vice versa. This sometimes includes some top speed runs (which is only about 175 kph with a Ranger).
I was wondering if the tire would still be okay at that speed.

    Thanks

You need extra care for your punctured tire, 175kph speed is not a joke for a good tire then how much more to your punctured tire!

To ease some of your burden, subject your tire to a pressure test at least 80% (between 40-44psi, I guess) every six months or once in a while. If it doesnt show any problems then continue using but avoid high speed as much as possible.

I just noticed this puncture sa sidewall. 255/55/r18 tire ko if it makes a difference. Safe to use pa kaya ito? Worried lang since we'll be going to Baguio next weekend. If ever papalitan, at least dalawang gulong? Ouch!/

butas ba talaga, as in na-flat ang tire, at nakikita ang fracture sa loob ng tire?
baka naman superficial, external tapyas lang yan, at hindi naman na-flat ang tire? in which case, puede pang gamitin.

but if you want to be real careful, just buy a replacement tire.

And unsafe ng gamitin? Happened to me din pero nilagyan lng ng patch.. nagcheck ako ng tire pressure kanina and it dropped from 35 to 32 in two weeks..

Vulcanizng or mga tire seller?

Not sure if I have a hidden puncture but what are the possible causes if your tire loses about 1 psi per day?

I have this 1 tire that slowly loses around 1 psi per day. A few weeks ago, nabunot ang metal na pito while topping up the air sa gas station. I thought mawawala na ang problema after I had it replaced. From 35 last Sunday afternoon, 32.5 na lang siya by Wednesday night.

Ano ba ang dapat kong ipa-check aside from punctures?

Aside from the spare, all my tires are 4 years old. The tire in question is currently on the rear passenger side.

Kung walang puncture at hindi pa more than 8 years ang gulong, the tire bead seating on the rimmight have some dirt or obstruction kaya may sumisingaw. Have it (rim) checked and cleaned and put some water or water with soap before re-installing the tires.

Pito also sometime need na palitan. Inflate sa max tire pressure at usually makikita issue sa rim at sa pito.
