I need to replace the tires on my 2010 Altis since it's turning 5 soon. The tires were manufactured on the 3rd week of 2010 though.
I am choosing between Michelin and Bridgestone:
Michelin = P4300 x 4 = P17200
Bridgestone = P3850 x 4 = P15400
The stock tires are Bridgestone. I am having trouble deciding if I should buy Michelin since I only use the car now as my coding car. It only has 38k+ on the odometer.

February 14th, 2015 10:28 AM #87US NHTSA says 10 years maximum life for tires from date of manufacture. At 4-5 years and 38+ thousand KMs, these shouldn't be a problem yet. Pa inspect mo nalang more regularly for bukol/etc.
I try to replace tires on our car at 8-9 years of age.
Also, not only brand is important but also the model. If you want alternatives, look for the Yokohama A300 or the A.Drives or the upper end Yokohama C.Drives.Last edited by mda; February 14th, 2015 at 10:32 AM.

^The tires are kalbo already. I am also wondering because I had a car with tires that lasted me over 10 years (though I don't use it often).
Does anyone know where I can buy Michelin Tires? JIGA's stock of Michelin tires were manufactured on June 2014 pa. Isn't that a bit old already?

February 14th, 2015 10:43 AM #89Kung kalbo at 38T KMs, you need to have wheel alignment done more often... Toe in/out adjustment is likely.
I also tried looking around before and Michelin tires tend to be older kasi mas mabagal gumalaw (due to being more premium I guess).
Between the Bridgestone ER30s and the Yokohama A.Drives both on the FD, the Yokohamas are more comfortable.
Also, June 2014 isn't so old, considering if they were manufactured abroad. Probably 1-3 months for delivery here to the PH, and the tires have probably been with the dealer for less than 3 months as well
edit: weird yung forum ngayon, laging nag ddouble post in the same post.
edit2: With regards to the car with tires older than 10 years, hazard na yan kasi lumulutong na yung goma. For 20-30kph driving on coding days, *baka* pwede pa, but I would never take that on the highway. Although since you said 'had', I'm assuming sold na.Last edited by mda; February 14th, 2015 at 10:48 AM.

That was exactly what the store told me (mabagal ang galaw ng Michelin)
I never had an alignment since I bought the car in 2010. I thought casa checks that during PMS? I sold the car with over 10 yr old tires in 2012 pa. It's a good thing I never had an accident since I did some highway driving on it.Last edited by _Cathy_; February 14th, 2015 at 10:59 AM.
