If you're going to pass through Urdaneta City, there is just a brief slowdown right before CSI Supermarket because a portion of the highway (around 20 meters probably) still hasn't been cemented.

Afterward, there's another slowdown when you get to the main intersection because it too has not yet been cemented.

However, you could opt to take the detour to Dagupan before you reach CSI so that you can skip these inconveniences completely.

Councilor's son killed

A SON of Urdaneta City Councilor Julio Parayno was shot dead by still unidentified man here Monday morning.

Urdaneta Police Chief Jimili Macaraeg identified the victim as Rene Parayno, a military reservist and resident of J.P. Rizal Street, Barangay Bayaoas. He sustained several gunshot wounds in his body.

Rene was the commanding officer of the Army 105th Reserved Company based in Urdaneta City.

A report said the victim, on board a Yamaha Enduro motorcycle, was about to buy pandesal at a bakery near his residence at 6:10 a.m. Monday when the gunman fired at him repeatedly.

Witnesses said the killer, who was wearing a helmet, immediately drove away on his motorcycle. Residents in the area rushed the victim to the Don Amadeo Perez Hospital but he died while undergoing treatment.

Responding policemen recovered from the crime scene two slugs and one spent shell for caliber .45 pistol.

Macaraeg said they have yet to determine the motive for the killing as of Monday, but vowed they will do their best to solve the case soon.

He asked the assistance of the PNP Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) for a speedy resolution of the case. (LCMY/Sunnex)

What the reporter failed to mention was that the victim's father is running for vice-mayor in the May elections. I just have to wonder if the murder was politically motivated.

the tarlac route will get you to bolinao much quicker. the zambales route is imo more scenic and interesting -- not a good idea though if you have small kids along for the ride because there are no jollibees or mcdos in the subic - mabini corridor.

If you guys would like to have a new dining experience, then I'd like to invite you to the coffee shop that was set up by a friend of mine in Urdaneta City, La Pia Taza Cafe. (Actually, capitalist investor ako dito sa shop, pero friend namin nagpapatakbo ng day-to-day operations).



The cafe is located in front of Urdaneta Villas, on the right side of MacArthur Highway, right before the Urdaneta City welcome arch (if you're coming from Carmen).

The view in the photo is the one that motorists coming from Baguio see.

Aside from coffee and cakes, the cafe also serves Italian and Japanese dishes. I hope to see you guys there someday

I trace my roots in Anda...my parents are both from Tarlac pero my grandparents were from Anda...last punta ko nun sa Anda is totoy pa ako. Balita ko may bridge na daw ngayon dun, wala na yung barge.

Anyways, musta po kayo?

Will be going sana next month to Bolinao, does anyone here can provide info sa mga accomodations and places to stay? prefer sana namin yung isang haus with multiple rooms, around 15 kasi kami. Will beach hop sa Bolinao, snorkel, punta sa sea caves, hike to the waterfalls at punta sa lighthouse. Specific info on getting there is also welcome.

Also, if time permits, side trip din sa Anda. Ano na ba road conditions?

Sensya na po if madami questions, miss ko na kc yung Pangasinan eh, though we frequent sa Alaminos pero would want to explore the western part.

Kumusta po, newbie na tiga Binmaley.
I never experienced flooded roads pag biyahe from Alabang to Binmaley kasi I usually don't take chances pag may bagyo or malakas ang ulan. Camiling route kami palagi with my family pag umuuwi. Since medyo malalaki na ang mga bata, medyo mapapadalas na ang biyahe namin.
May mga informations po ba kung saang lugar ang mga binabaha within Tarlac-Camiling-Bugallon-Lingayen-Binmaley route?
