June 18th, 2012 12:45 PM #44with this pricing, pinatay lang ng Kia ang market ng Soul. Soul is P919K while Sportage is P988K or 69k diff. they should release a M/T version ng Soul soon kasi 1.6 lang yun eh or better release the CRDi version 1.6 of the Soul kasi wala na kukuha ng maliit na SUV like the soul nyan.
and regarding naman dun sa M/T CRDi Sorento, pano nila pantatapat yun sa Montero M/T non-VGT na 1.168M after discount. mas expensive pa din ang Kia Sorento and sobrang bare tignan. Kia has to beat Montero pricing in order to get a lion's share of the crdi mid-suv market.
mali ang pricing nila imho. if Fortuner releases their own version of the cheap Montero, wala na market yan. the market only needs 2 competing mass brands, and others might as well a minority. that is if they want to get volume sales, eh yun naman talaga reason nila diba that's why they released the bare bones, if not eh di retain na lang nila yun existing EX variants at least upscale and may price premium, and also not masa sales.
goodluck to the buyers of the M/T Gasoline Sorento also. it's already proven that Kia cars are not fuel efficient in this forum. the Kia Rio is just averaging 7km/liter, the Kia Soul is just averaging 6km/liter on Manila stop and go traffic. with this big body of a car na Sorento gas, nakow, tingin ko it will only be 1km better than our Ford Explorer EB at 3km/liter all-city
imho, the only thing worth looking at is the P988k M/T sportage. swerte ng Kia dito coz the CRV is way way overpriced. ang ganda ng timing. with Tucson as the best-selling CUV while the Sportage 2nd. 2 years ago kasi, CRV best selling, then Tucson 2nd best.

Just how bare again is the Sorento LX diesel?
The P1.090M ad for the gas Sorento (Kia's Sportage and Sorento now with manual option; Prices start at P988,000) suggests that you're just losing the fogs lights, roof railing and illuminated ignition keyhole. Are these the same stuff chucked out of the diesel Sorento LX?

I don't think this move "cheapens" the Sorento and Sportage. The TOTL units are still there, if you can and want to spend your cash there. There are just more options for the buyers, which is good.
Daming issue ng SU7:grin:
