anyone tried here replacing their 1st gen sportage gas engine into a diesel engine?May available kaya engine dito sa manila?

meron naman siguro talaga yan sir. bilhin mo yung sa sportage diesel din para d same parin ang mga bracket(i think) at di na mas malaki trabaho.

ano ba ang engine ng gen 1 sportage? r12 or rf?

R2/mazda ang engine ng 1st gen sportage. If u change the engine, use mazda's R2 engine.

mazda ang engine ng sportage? hindi ba kia? or ang kia at mazda may r2 na engine? kasi sabi dito samin, ang ibang bumibili ng gen 1 sportage ay pinapalitan ang engine ng japanese na r2. mazda is a jap right? baka yung stock na engine nya eh kia r2...

local first gens were gas-only models ... 2.0 mazda FSDE engines, same engine which powered the 626s ....

second gens were long-bodied, diesel-only models ... 2.0 turbodiesel intercooler ...

speaking from the sportage models which appeared locally, the current sportage models are actually third gens ...

please correct me if Im wrong ... got those infos way back 1999 when im still connected with BALAI (now Kia Batangas) ...

According to kia forums and wikipedia, the current model is the 2nd gen. Its maybe because the long bodied sportage still retains the face of the old one pero pinahaba lng yung sa may likuran. I have a 1st gen, short body, and its a diesel.
