October 30th, 2010 02:45 PM #71i got a brand new valve cover sa goodgear a few months ago. it cost around 2.5k++
for the idle up. check the vacum lines from the alternator to the vacume actuator of the ac. there may be a leak. if ok. then check the vacum actuator. casa told me that ours needed to be replaced. but when i checked it. nawala ng ng ground. sayang naman, i got a new actuator at hindi ko nagamit.
madugo magpalit ng mga oil seals nayan. para ka rin nag palit ng timing belt. daming tatangalin (main pulley, engine mounts, fan belts, timing belt cover...ect). good luck bro.

October 30th, 2010 03:09 PM #73hi peeps
has anyone tried engine decarbonization? I came across one shop in Makati, offered said service for 3.5k. Gas or diesel powered vehicles with atleast 50k odo reading are highly recommended to undergo this. The whole process takes about an hour, after which the vehicle would run smoothly, lessens knocks and pings and improves fuel efficiency. I'm seriously contemplating in trying it out as my carnival has already reached 92k mileage. Feedback (good or bad) will be highly appreciated.
tia.

November 10th, 2010 10:26 AM #77Hello to Carnival owners! I owned a 2000 model Carnival (surplus) which i bought in Cebu about more than two years ago and i love this car. Around early part of this year I planned to change the unit for a Nissan patrol Safari but it did not push through because of fuel consumption issues. My Carnival will do a 6-7 km/L within the city limits and 11-12 km/L on long trips and because of this I learned to love this car. I used to travel round trip from Valencia Bukidnon to General santos city and this car never disappoint me. However, when I was browsing the internet i saw a used 2001 model white carnival that is up for sale. Location is BF homes Las Pinas City. I think the unit is locally purchased because the front grill is different compared to mine. Anybody round here have seen the unit or acquainted with the unit? I need inputs, comments or recommendations. If it is favorable I plan to buy it. I don't mind if I have two Kia carnivals.
By the way here is the picture:

Thanks in Advance. God bless you all....
