    praetor,

instead of "covering" up the smell, why don't you just look for the source? and take it from there.

i have a hunch sa evaporator yan.

I just had the alarm changed and a reverse sensor installed at Evangelista. Hay naku... I wouldn't recommend going there except to buy the materials cheap, pero sa installation you'll just get frustrated.

During the reverse sensor's installation, they were forcefully removing the left tail light, higit lang nang higit hanggang bumigay. Tapos while drilling the bumper so they can insert the sensor, nagmamadali pa din yung nag-install, ang dami tuloy gasgas dahil lumalampas yung driller nya!

I just found out today na kulang na yung nilagay nya na turnilyo sa bumper! I tried looking for it kaya lang di ko na makita.

During the alarm's installation naman ganun din. The installer had some difficulty sa panel na may parking break release dahil nakaharang yung release knob.

I asked for the alarm's box para iuwi. When I got home, I saw that they didn't install the alarm's speaker(?).

I generally don't argue with people who take care of my vehicle, baka lalong sirain e. I just let them finish then never return to their shop again.

I also had the horns replaced at Valley 1 here in sucat. Nahihinaan ako sa horn nya e.

When they looked at it, bosch na pala sya na all black ang color. They claimed it was louder then my current horn.

E nandun na ko so I told them, sige pa-install na.

When I got their bill, P1,500 sya. I tipped them P100 sabi ko hati-hati na lang sila, pangmerienda. Di sila makatingin sa kin nang diretso and I wondered why, he he he...

I looked for the horn's box and for my old horn dahil nilagay ko talaga sila sa counter para iuwi.

I got home and I was hapy with my horn dahil mas malakas nga kaysa sa dati.

I was looking for tints at sulit.com when I saw several shops selling the same color and type of horn for P800.

    Ha ha ha! Malas talaga...

So anyways, does any of you have a regular shop or know of one which is located here in Paranaque?

Parang magulo kasi ang traffic sa pasay kaya I'm holding off going to goodgear until I really have to.

Yup, the other forums say it's because of the fungus and bacteria in the evaporator.

I'm trying out their advise to keep the evaporator dry with the use of moisture absorbers and by having the fans run for about 3 minutes before I turn off the airconditioning and it's working naman po.

The problem is when it's raining and the vents above the hood which catch rain water gets wet, andyan na naman yung amoy.

I'll observe for another week, pag di nawala, dadalhin ko na kay ceejay sa las pinas.

hi praetor, welcome. kia cars are notorious for having weak horns and they only have one instead of the usual pair (even the new ones i think, iisa pa rin ang busina). what i did to my carnival was to replace the original horn with surplus (forgot the brand, but they are good ones). cost me 500 php.

normally they just change rebuilding kit that can cost you around 16k plus 12k labor, but, how about if:
    1. the sensor is not working that will cost you around 5k, 2. valve body is not working cost is around 8k, 3. gear is burned out that will cost you around 3.5k per gear, 4. excluding labor cost.

i've canvassed for 2 consecutive months on shops elsewhere and internet forums for an automatic transmission of kia carnival, since i'm an owner of kia carnival 2002, that reverse has been not backing up anymore & no power on acceleration that cost ranging from 34k to 55k form fronte banawe, goodgear pasay, shops in bf, bulacan, las pinas, pampanga surplus and other places.

good thing ive found "evangelos auto repair shop" located in 3 crispina ave, pamplona 3, las pinas, with tel# 4072358, 8716251, 09204029044. they just charge me for 25k only all-in, they change rebuilding kit, gear of reverse, atf 3 with free carwash vacuum and engine wash in 2 days only. personnel are so hospitable with big vicinity covered shop.

just want to share my experience so you won't spend time and money canvassing and found out they just over charge you. this is my way of appreciation who did a very good job on my unit.

mintoy, try changing your ATF first prior doing any transmission overhaul.. try first other possible cause of the problem like loose connections, cable adjustments, etc.. success rate for Automatic transmission overhaul is very low.. so if i were you it will not be included in my list.. if you could find a surplus automatic transmission that will be good instead of having it overhauled by casa..

hirap kasing humatak yung sasakyan ko... kailangan tapakan ko madiin yung accelerator para pumick-up... most of the time pinipindot ko pa yung hold or overdrive para bumilis. sobrang mausok din. bumaba ng bumaba yung consumption from 10/ltr to 7.5/ltr to now 5/ltr nalang.

na check na nung wheels sa e.rodriguez and kailangan na daw ibaba yung transmission. nag inquire ako ng bago/surplus na automatic transmission and its P40,000.

ang good news lang is umaandar pa sya kahit paano...
