Good to hear from you again, leolop. I hope your Carnival is doing well. Have a joyful Christmas.
Merry Christmas to you as well, sir. Hope you find a good pair of replacement tires.
Not sure about what the underlying problem is. Have you had your van checked out by an electrician?
Sana naman hindi alternator yung problema, pero maraming past electrical problems ng Carnival owners na alternator-related.

DUNLOP SP SPORT 601
these were the tires i bought to replace my EC201s. i only got them because they're what my friend had in stock last year.
at first, i didn't like the looks of the white stripe but they grew on me. it's a pain to keep them clean though, especially the fronts.
treadwear is better than expected from dunlops. i usually change tires after a year and these particular tires are still have a lot of kilometers left in them. the ones currently installed in the rears still have their shoulder blocks intact after 11 months. that's exceptional for the terrain i drive on.
HAPPY NEW YEAR, GUYS!

Have been suffering the following for a couple of months:
1) ABS warning light on - thought it was because the break pads were worn as per previous posts, but they were ok.
2) high pitched sound when aircon is on, or when turning
I tolerated them, but when it got worse, with intermittent loss of power steering and battery warning light coming on, I had it checked and it turns out the crankshaft pulley needed replacement.
I read through the thread, and this crankshaft pulley seems to be a usual suspect. Thankfully, Goodgear was open yesterday. Crankshaft pulley P1,650. Belt P500, Labor P700.

Hi bro. Happy new year to you as well.
I hope you have time to post a photo of your Carnival with the white sidewall tires installed. I imagine them having an elegant, semi-classic look.
Bro, it's a good thing you were able to detect the problem and have the crankshaft pulley replaced right away. I was one of those that experienced the trouble caused when this part wears out.
I hope Kia has received feedback about this issue and rectified it in the 3rd gen Carnival.

January 5th, 2009 06:39 PM #2409long time no post guys. I hope you guys don't mind that I post here after my very last post where I poured out my anger about the lack of durability of our ride. Though I have kept in touch with Diesoline through text, pareng Diesoline, sad to say, nag pasko ulit ang ride ko sa shop. The new calibrations shop that Kia used refused to release it as their equipment says the choking problem was still there. So my car spent the holidays at the shop. Just like last year. Its been in the shop for most of the year 2008, rather than out. Today, the service advisor texted me that the calibration finally released the pump. They will install it tomorrow and test it. I still don't know what was the cause of it. I really hope its finally settled. Couldn't sell my ride. Who would want to buy it if the problems keeps on coming out? Now, wouldn't sell my ride, as I have to "bawi" what I have spent on repairs. Plus, the resale value of our ride is really bad now.

January 5th, 2009 07:19 PM #2410sir,
may problem lang ako na experience with my carnival. Minsan pag long drive ako tapos pinatay ko agad ung makina ayaw na niya mag-start. Pag pinahinga mo for mga 30 mins to 1 hour 1 click naman siya. The only way to avoid this is kapag binomba ko ng binomba ung gas bago ko patayin ung makina. Any advise kung ano ang cause ng problem?
