    Hi Kenzie,

    Please check the condition of your auto-tensioner. Defective auto tensioner puts too much pressure on the alternator belt that may lead to its premature breakage. HTH.

    hi mga peeps,

    question, i noticed that when the ignition is turned on (engine is not running) the main fan would turn on after around 15 sec. this happens even if the car has not been started and the engine is cold. is this normal?

    anyways, we recently bought a 2000 model carnival ls, manual...medyo madami ako question..first time ko mag ka diesel na sasakyan...sana masagot ng mga ka tsikoteeers here..here goessssssssssssss

    1. gano ba katagal ang pag warm up pag first time mo start ang makina?
    do u need to warm up again everytime na mag succeeding start ka ulit?

    2. how about after a 30 min or 1 hr and so on travel, how long ang cool down? do u need it?

    3.baka meron kayo copy ng mga fuse label sa engine bay?
    baka meron din kayo copy ng manual ng carnival?

    4. aside from casa, any good mechanic or shop na pwede nyo ma suggest that deals with a carnival...ex ng work: change timing belt, tune up, etc......

    5. pag pinapatay ko ung makina , bangit nanginginig ung kotse ng sandali?

    6. anybody knows where can i buy ung copper contact sa may mismong loob ng susuian? or do i really need to buy the whole assembly? may times kasi na hirap i start ung car, click lang ng click..batt is ok and so is the starter....i had time na kinalikot ko ung susian and ung culprit is ung maliit na contact dun...may remdyo ba dito? nilagyan ko lang kasi ng grasa...ill post pics when i have time..tnx...

    7. ano no. ng fuse ng reverse/back up light?

    pasensya na kung madami tanong...worried lang ako kung pano ma maintain ang diesel engine eh...sana masagot nyo...tnx.....ung iba pag na isip ko na..hehehehe...TNX

    4. taga san ka ba?? marami na din marunong sa carnival ngayon.. basa ka sa thread para malaman mo mga possible problems at syempre ang solution..

    5. normal lang na may shudder ng konti pag pinatay engine... pero check mo din engine supports.. mura lang engine supports nyan lalo na yung front and rear medyo mahal lang yung left and right

    6. papalitan dyan copper contacts ng starter.. hindi ng susian.. 150 pesos lang yun copper contacts sa pasay..

    7. check mo sa fuse box or manual.. check mo din bka pundido na bulb

    sir actually nag back read na ako many times..kaso di ko talaga makita...nag re rent lang din kasi ako ng comp..kaya mabilisan lang din ako..hehehe

    sir taga las pinas ako......also re sa copper contacats ng starter san po exactly sa pasay?para makabili na rin ako..kasi medyo hassle pag ginagamit ko ung car..pag tinopak hassle talaga pag di nag start......

    sir ung sa backup light naman, ok ang bulbs..wala kasi nakasulat na backup/reverse light sa fuse box sa may loob ng car, ung sa engine bay ko, wla ako label...kaya baka meron sa inyo dyan........makopya ko lang....


    also, so ibig nyo sabihin is pag start ng makina pwede na umalis ulit, as in no need of really warming up...ako kasi since new ako sa diesel with turbo engine, ang gawa ko is warm up for around 5 mins...then drive..then pag narating ko na destination ko, cool down for at least 2-3 min, kahit biyahe ko lang is 30 min or so......

    ung pag nginig pala is engine support pag pinatay makina? dalawa lang kasi napalitan ko na engine support.......ill check again

    sorry bro nabenta ko na kasi kia carnival ko eh... siguro isa isahin mo na lang yung fuse makikita mo naman agad yan pag putok... also check mo din yung reverse light switch baka sira or disconnected...makikita mo yan sa side ng transmission but you need to remove the air filter housing para ma-access yan sabay mo na pag check nyan pag baba ng starter mo kasi tanggal din yan para ma-access starter...

    yung copper contacts meron yan sa pasay hindi ko lang alam kung saan binili ng tatay ko... pero try mo sa GOODGEAR yan kapatid ni FRONTE..sigurado meron yan dun

    sa umaga lang yung konting warm up mga 60 secs lang ok na yan.. hindi naman nag yeyelo dito sa pinas eh..kung nagamit mo na at pumarada ka lang no need pa para mag warm up alis ka na agad.. pero syempre wag naman yung hataw ka agad.. yung cool down applicable lang lets say nasa hiway ka running at 140kph at 4000 rpm tapos bigla ka na CR sa gas station syempre cool down mo muna bago mo turn-off pero kung city drive lang tapos ang running rpm mo up to 2000rpm lang no need na mag cool down pa.. better kapag malapit ka na sa destination mo mag slow down ka na para hindi ka na mag cool down..

    kung taga las pinas ka punta ka kay mang rogher dito lang yan sa loob ng red ribbon tapat nung pamplona lumber.. sya tumira nung carnival ko nag palit ako ng timing belt at valve gasket... magaling yan talaga gumawa.. dati lagi may leak yung valve cover ko sya lang ang nakasolve maganda kasi siya maglapat expert talaga...

    sa timing belt ewan ko kung pwede nga AFAIK mas maganda pa din ang orig.. dun sa FRONTE banawe binigyan ako ng GATES timing belt unang start pa lang bumigay agad buti naagapan nung mekaniko..kaya binili ko na CONTITECH original german made OEM yan ng carnival check mo lang teeth count meron 151 at 150 ata dapat parehas ng teeth count.. iba yung quality ng CONTITECH matigas at talagang makapal...yung nga luma kong t-belt buong buo pa after 90000kms

    ganun lang pala pag warm up.....aksayado na pala ako sa diesel...hehehehe..ang tagal ko kasi mag warm up...pati pag shutdown ang tagal ko din gawin....tnx again sir..


    ung sa copper contacts kasi, nagtanong ako sa fronte, at ung isang shop sa banawe with the red sign, basta kia parts etc, din ang binebenta..pero fronte ang that other shops were giving me the whole assembly...ung susian plus the other key hole lock...of course with new keys...eh ayoko naman..sayang kasi kung papalitan ko.....basta ung culprit is ung copper contact na talaga...
    nag try din ako ng diy, niliha ko ung contacts and cleaned it, then grasa ng konti...kaso as usual pa sumpong sumpong....minsan mag start minsan hindi...
    sana lang meron nga sa goodgear.....

    bro, tinutukoy ko yun copper contacts sa starter mismo hindi yung key assembly...ibaba starter nyan para palitan yung copper contacts nung contactor... napupudpod kasi yung copper sa lakas ng impact nung contactor when starting...

    madali lang gawin yan..

    based dun sa kia carnival ko dati tingin ko hindi normal yan.. kasi saken hindi naman nag trigger ang fan when the ignition is turned on... check mo wirings baka ma loose or sira yung thermoswitch
