    DBGeli,

This is how I observed the Wheels E. Rod technician doing it several years ago, so I tried it last year by myself:

First, remove the front air filter intake, like so:

The red arrow show where you have to insert your stencil and paper in order to lift the engine number. Now, if you have small arms and hands, you can skip the next steps. Otherwise, you can do as I did and remove the intercooler intake and the plastic engine cover beneath it, like this:

Removing the plastic engine cover gives your arms more room to reach into the bowels of the engine. It also gives you the chance to remove the gunk and grime that has built up over the years. See how dirty the engine can get:

Again, the red arrow above shows where you should reach in.

The photo below shows how to position your hand to feel for the engine number. You can also slightly move these two wires (shown by red arrow) up and out of the way so you can really squeeze in there.

Finally, you should be able to attach your LTO stencil paper to the smooth portion of the engine block and get an impression of your engine number, like this:

The engine number is really in a level horizontal orientation, but I couldn't position my camera that way as the space is really cramped.

On the other hand, you could save yourself a lot of sweat and aggravation and pay the casa technician 500 pesos to do it for you (hehe). Next year I think I'll let the casa guy do it again. Better yet, have him make several copies so you'll be good to go for the next few years.

    Thanks Mikey117...

sana i had small hands para hinde na masyado marami baklasin... i don't like to wait sa mga casa eh kasi dito sa davao, in my experience, super bagal gumalaw yung mga mechanic sa casa and grabe sila magcharge... have to find somebody with smaller hands and arms to do the dirty work for me... hahaha

    DBGeli,

DBGeli, you can also ask the casa mechanic to get the engine stencils right in your garage before he reports for work. he won't have a hard time doing it because the engine bay is easier to work with when cool. tip mo na lang siya! hehehe!

    Sir Kenzie,

Yes, puedeng iconvert ng front facing seat ang 3rd row seat ng carnival. May stock na front facing 3rd row seat sa Seatmate sa may mandalauyong, although medyo pricey at 20K.

My unit is still in the shop since last December. I had the injection pump repaired outside na lang. Ito yung mga pinalitan:

    3 pcs guide pin
    4 pcs nozzle shim
    1 pc gasket kit
    1 pc plunger shim
    1 pc oil seal
    1 pc timer piston
    1 pc driveshaft
    4pcs return washer

Labor is 2,500. Total to spend is 10,960.

Before I had it fixed, kinabitan nila ng service unit. That's how they learned sira nga ang pump. The thing is, yung dating nagayos sa pump when it was under warranty, daming excuses, took them over 1 week to inspect the pump, pag inspect, di daw sila sure na yung pump ang sira. That's when the service advisor said he will borrow a service pump from the other branch to install and test on my unit.

As what jabr said, it is possible. When I got my unit from Wheels E. Rod in 2002, they offered this type of conversion for P15,000. I don't know if they still do this or whether or not their prices have increased though. Anyway, the work they did was good and I have no complaints. By the way, the 15k package from Wheels also includes changing the middle row seats into captain's chairs.

That's unfortunate, sir. Will the casa no longer honor the warranty work they did before on the injection pump? There's usually a three month to one year warranty on genuine replacement parts, right?
