    As Mike G suggested, it's possibly an idler bearing or auto-tensioner that is causing the squeaking sound. Yung sa Sedona ko kasi, may squeaking sound, pero intermittent, pag umaandar ng mabagal sa malubak na daan.

    It turns out that some of the insulation or padding on my front bumper was already worn out wher it connects to the chassis of the vehicle, thus causing the noise. Ayun, dinagdagan ng technician ng DIY padding made of cut-up strips of leather, nawala yung ingay.

    Hello guys this thread is very helpful to Carnival owners like me. Sobrang haba nga lang grabe hehe, sana may marunong gumawa ng website at i-host ito para may Carnival/Sedona Club na tayo.

    I have an inquiry pala at sana po eh may matulong o makapagbigay ng idea o share ng experience. We own a black 01 Carnival 2.9L Diesel with just over 45T kms on the Odo. Ok naman yung van sarap gamitin kasi comfortable at ok talaga sa highway matulin at stable. Matic nga pala ito at well maintained naman.

    May napansin lang ako lately parang hirap sya paakyat pag nakahang, yung tipong steep incline then hinto sa gitna. Mabagal sya pumanik, need pang apakan ng madiin yung pedal. Pero once nakabwelo na kayang kaya naman na. Yung black smoke nabawasan na since gumamit kame ng biodiesel pero meron pa din pag biglang apak then tumaas ng 2K RPM. Normal na siguro yun sa engine natin, nawawala din naman kasi after the initial buga. Sa idle wala din naman usok. Na silip na din namin yung EGR ba yun at nalinis na yung langis langis pero di naman makapal na "gunk".

    So eto ginawa nag change oil na at palit pati air filter etc. pero parang bitin pa din ang takbo sa umpisa, yung tipong from full stop na launching nung van e bitin sa pickup at pag nakahang sa pataas na kalsada. Pero pag nag change gear na to 2nd, 3rd, 4th gear matulin na. Yung sa 1st gear lang talaga parang feeling ko lang kapos sya, o ganito ba talaga sya dahil mabigat ang kaha? Ngayon ko pa lang kasi nagagamit ito dahil uncle ko nagdadala dati. Nasanay din kasi ako sa kotse na magaan kaya pati pag apak sa accelerator nanibago ako sa Carnival kasi medyo madiin bago humataw. I know I know van po ito at hindi car o SUV, hehe. Just want to sqeeze more juice lang sana o atleast ma-assure ko na normal/optimal lang yung ganitong observations ko or kung may problema ba.

    So pinacheck na nga namin sa Casa for diagnosis saka for tune-up lang sana o baka sa adjustment lang, kaso they said na 4pcs Injectors need replacing at 50K ang quote nila kasama labor, EGR and Intake Manifold cleaning, at ATF replacement. Nagtataka lang kame how they came up with that conclusion? Hindi ba kung apat na injector ang may problema eh di na tatakbo ng matino yung sasakyan? Kaso matulin pa din naman, yung first gear lang talaga ang feeling ko bitin sa power. Di ko din sure kung normal lang yun dahil wala naman akong kakilalang may ibang Carnival. Sabi naman ng uncle ko di nya pansin kasi nakasanayan na.

    Feeling ko kasi they're trying to pull a wholesale service rather than isolating the problem (di nga matuturing na problema kung tutuusin). Ang bigat kasi ng singil e at paano naman makakasiguro na sira nga yung apat o kung papalitan nga nila? Di naman kasi pinapakita o ini-explain man lang basta sasabihin lang need na palitan. Parang nakakaduda kasi. Sana may makatulong sa inyo at para ma-enlighten din kame. Ayaw naman namin gastusan ng ganun kung di naman kailangan pa, baka adjustment o cleaning lang kasi ang sagot.

    Anyway more power to you guys and safe riding! Overall I still like love this van! Lahat naman e may Pros and Cons eh, asa pag mamaintain nalang siguro nagkakatalo talaga. ^_^

    wala na yung kuliglig nagpalit ako tensioner bearing ayos. tanong ko lang upgrade ako ng speakers anong size ng speakers sa harap and napapaltan ba yung tweeter?

    I'm glad you were able to isolate the source of the squeaking sound and remedy the problem.

    Since manual tranny yung unit ko, wala ako maipapayo tungkol sa blinking hold light. Hintayin na lang natin kung may iba tayong ka-Tsikot na na-encounter ang ganitong problema.

    if you backread through the thread, you'll find some comments from A/T Carnival owners that there is really less than optimal power when going up steep inclines.

    Also, what casa gave you the advice to have the injectors replaced? May ibang Kia casa kasi na mabilis mag-recommend ng parts replacement kahit hindi pa nila na-pinpoint yung talagang problema. Yung Carnival ko, nasa 165,000 km na yung natakbo nya, pero di pa ako nagpapalit ng injectors.

    Pwede ka siguro kumuha ng second opinion sa labas, gaya ng sa Central Diesel Calibration, shop ni Doc Diesel na isa ring poster sa Tsikot. I haven't been to his shop personally, but it's located at 1176 Quezon, Avenue Quezon City, contact numbers are 411-3711 to 13.

    autozion, when you are at a full stop on an uphill incline, some diesel rides have a hard time going uphill. These rides are those that are heavy types: Carnival/sedona, pajero 2.5 na/tdic series. Yung mga auvs don't experience it the same way, or even the isuzu's 4ja1 engines. Diesel rides that have turbos or TDIC units are generally rides that are heavier than the typical diesel ride. The effect here is called turbo lag. Turbopower is felt when you reach around 2-2.5rpm. This is when you feel that sudden rush of power. Ang problema sa ride natin, sa sobrang bigat ng kaha, hirap siya at full stop at an incline. Try this: During an incline na di ka makabwelo, put on the foot brake, put the car in gear, rev it up to the point where the turbo should kick in, release the foot break lever, adjust your clutch to keep the rpm as much as possible. This will help you going up. Word of advise when going uphill: Huwag mag alanganin sa momentum when going up. Because if you drive slow, you will be forced to go back to 1st gear, and you will not have enough momentum or rpm left to let you adequately have power to go 2nd gear. You must have enough momentum and corresponding rpm at 2nd, even 3rd gear to allow you to maintain your gear. If not, you will be stuck at 1st gear all the way up.

    Regarding update on my ride. May problema nga yata talaga ang injection pump ko. More frequently, as I rev up my engine to 3K up, pumapalyado na siya. Though not all the time. Parang nagchochoke. Am still waiting for the feedback of the calibration shop that the casa sent my pump to the 1st time around over a year ago kung anong comment nila. Nakakainis na.

    na experience nyo na ba yung hold light na nag bliblink? pm nyo naman ako kung pano mawawala yung hold light. tnx merry xmas in advance.

    Di ko alam yung hold light na yan ah. M/T sa akin. Might be an A/T exclusive? Para ano ang hold light?
