Josiel:
As I remember it, the 50k PMS of my Carnival costs only 2,700 at Hyundai/KIA Sucat. It includes the labor costs (1,110) and 6 liters of oil (shell rimula-x) and oil filter. The work conducted were the ff:
-perform 50,000 km check up
-change oil & filter
-tune up engine
-check all brakes
-check all belts
-check all lighting system
The 9 to 11 thousand pesos estimate of your friend is way to high, unless of course there are major/costly parts to be replaced. If you are planning to visit Hyundai/KIA Sucat, look for Mang Ben Narvaez or Randy. Both of them were formely connected at KIA Las Pinas and very competent with regards to Carnival's troubles.

Percy,
The RS is the base model while the LS is the high-end variant. The LS has the sunroof, ABS, CD-player, and other features not standard on the RS.
AFAIK, both the LS and RS originally came with the bench-type side-facing third row seats, but Kia dealers provided the option to have these converted to a front-facing third row and captain's chairs for the middle row. That's the option we availed ourselves of when we got our Sedona RS in 2002.

July 4th, 2007 12:42 PM #1807Yup, I think those are the ones. The H/T I think stands for Highway Treads?? since Yokohama just came up with an All Terrain with bigger lugs but expect it to be noisier on the highway.
I had the same battery problem with my 2001 LS and it was always diagnosed to have a busted IC. I had the IC replaced 3 times, mas malapit ang intervals during the last couple of years so during the last breakdown I bought an alternator from Goodgear for 8K. Guess I should have done it earlier since the two IC repairs were done at the Casa, nakatipid pa sana.
BTW, I have been using Outlast and Motolite Excel so I think it would be better to replace the alternator ASAP instead of trying to switch batteries since even the CASAs have conflicting diagnosis on our problems.
Remember to bring blankets when traveling with your kids or you'll get numerous requests to turn off the aircon. Sobrang lamig kahit sa likod even if the rear vents are off.
Always bring a jacket too, and gloves especially if you travel nights :-)
Good gear at Pasay Taft. Tel # 833 5493 and 511 0376.

Aaalen:
Aside from the leaking fuel return hose, ano-ano pa ba ang napapansin mo sa carnival mo?

July 4th, 2007 02:37 PM #1810Salonika, H/T stands for Highway Terrain, while A/T stands for All Terrain.
So far so good, my car is up and about. With a new 110amp alternator, and the Atlas 100amp battery. My old battery supplier offered me a low maintenance battery that fits into our compartment but the price is wowowow, 6,200!! I told them no thanks, too expensive, anyway, the 100amp atlas at 4,200 is ok.
Are they on track to surpass last year's sales?
