The redesigned sedona and new hyundai entourage- minivan twins- are a big improvement over the "maliit", clumsy, and fuel thirsty first gen sedona. They are "tahimik", "maluwag", comfortable, powerful, and offer a wide array of features "sa magandang presyo".

This twin of the Hyundai entourage is a pleasant minivan with generous standard equipment and a roomy, flexible interior. Controls are simple "gamitin" and the "mga bintana sa" sliding "pintuan" retract. The 3.8L v6 and 5 speed auto in our tested unit were refined, but fuel "ekonomiya ay 17mpg". Body lean is somewhat pronounced and the steering is vague, but the standard electronic stability control kept it secure. "tatlong" row curtain air bags are standard. A SWB model is new for 2007. Crash test results are excellent. "Pang-unang taong" reliability has been average.

Highs: interior flexibility, ride, controls, crash test results, standard ESC, value. Lows: fuel economy, agility.

The ride is absorbent and fairly well controlled, "pero minsan yung mga lubak sa daan" sometimes come through too noticeably. "ang makina ay tahimik," and wind noise is muted, "pero merong ingay sa kalye marining galing sa likod".

The sedona feels "malaki at mabigat". Handling is sound but not agile, with pronounced body lean and vague steering. Emergency handling is secure, aided by the standard, well calibrated ESC. "Nakatulong ito sa sedona" to post a commendable speed in our avoidance maneuver.

    ....(about the gas engine).

The brakes performed well. The low beam headlights have a sharp cutoff and the high beams reach a short distance.

Interior has many handy convenient fetatures, and is assembled with quality materials. Drivers have plenty of room. But some found "yung manibela" too far forward, and it has large tilt adjustments, which makes it hard to find a comfrotable driving position. The power adjustable pedals helped a bit, "pero pwede lang ibahin kung nakaparada". Front and side visibility are excellent. The relatively high thrird row seat partially blocks the rear view.

"Ang upuan sa harap" are reasonably comfrotable, but support deteriorates "kung matagal ang biyahe". The comfortable second row captain chairs adjust fore and aft and have continuous recline adjustments. "ang pangatlong row ay maluwag pero mababa", flips forward for access, and simply pulling the handle or pressing button triggers the power sliding doors.

Controls are simple, well labelled, and logically arranged. "Pero malayo abutin ang ibang butones ng radyo at" climate controls.

There are many storage bins in front, including dual glove boxes. A tray between the front seats folds to allow rear access. The 60/40 split third row seat folds into the floor. "ang pangalawang row na upuan, pwedeng tangalin o ipaharap pero hindi pwede" slide together.

Meron din silang mga data sa dimensions, weight, interior room, crash tests, peroformance, etc.

You mean, the operating temp on your Carnival goes past the halfway mark on the temp gauge?
    Hi Mikey,

Yes it goes past halfway mark.

Finally released. Sobrang loooooong overdue na eto. And with CRDi.

Regarding the coolant. 1:1 ba dapat water:coolant? Kasi nakalagay pour all content to radiator. Whiz coolant po gamit ko.

for most cars, 50:50 ang ratio ng coolant and water. pero para makasigurado, tignan mo na lang sa manual

for the past 4 years of owning our gen1 carnival, the temp always stayed below the half mark, not above. even after changing the coolant.

Guys, I've been having trouble for the past few days with my van's 10-month old Motolite Gold battery. When I turn the ignition for the first time in the morning, nothing happens. When I try starting it again, it starts without a problem. Is there a way of checking the battery's remaining voltage to know for certain if it's about to fail?

    Mikey,

Just proceed to any Battery supplier, better dun sa binilihan mo. Usually they have Battery Tester. That's usually happens when battery is weak because of alternator problem. Just remember, dont let them remove the battery terminals while the engine is running---this will for sure damage your computer system (if you have any). In my previous case, nilinis lang ang alternator parts and terminals, naging ok na ang charging.

    Mikey,

If your battery is weak, the engine won't even turn. The fact that you can start the engine means the battery has enough juice. You may want to check the starter for worn out contacts. Worn out contacts inside the starter keep you from starting the engine consistently. I experienced something similar before when my Carnival wouldn't start immediately. Sometimes it would be a "one-click" start and sometimes I had to keep trying before the engine started. This drains the battery and shortens it's life. Replacing the contacts should cost around PHP 350.00
