February 19th, 2007 11:35 AM #1593The caps had the same logo but it was not the same nikelado type that we were looking for. I just got one first to see how it looks so the other 2 that I reserved with them are still there. It's up to you if you want to get them even if they are not exactly the same. Pero kung meron dito sa grupo na may alam kung saan ko pwede ipa-chrome yung cap para magining pareho, pa-share naman comments. Pwede kaya yun sa chrome dazzler? BTW, the cap cost me P580.
Filter cost was P400++ basta wala pang 500. Nakabit ko na yung AC filter over the weekend and it just took me less than 30 minutes to do it. Ngayon appreciate ko na ulit AC ko sa harap. Okay na siya at malakas na rin buga sa harap. Salamat ng marami sa mga tumulong.

I sent an inquiry through the feedback page on their web site regarding the non-availability of the new Sedona, and here is the response I received:
Dear Mr. ________,
We would like to thank you for taking time off from your busy schedule to browse our website. We are also glad to know that you are happily satisfied with your 2002 Kia Sedona.
With regard to your inquiry on the Kia Carnival, we at Kia are planning to bring in the said model probably within the year. Since we have your email address here, we will be forwarding your email address to one of our dealerships and they will be the ones to inform and update you with regard to this unit.
Once again thank you for viewing our site and on your inquiry on the Carnival. Rest assured we will keep you posted on when the unit will come out.
Very truly yours,

February 20th, 2007 04:44 PM #1595i have been regularly checking the posts in this thread and everytime i read the posts here i become more convinced to buy one as soon as the budget allows.
i have a friend who knows someone who is selling a carnival imported as second-hand from korea. what are the things that i should look out for? is it true that these are more prone to overheating? if i acquire one, are there procedures that the unit should go through to make it more suited for the philippine environment?
TIA

Hello guys! it's been a while since somebody had posted in this thread. Just want to share something with you as a point of reference, if the same happens to your carnival. I just replaced the front cooling coil of my ride due to leaks, the aircon shop quoted me 6,500 pesos for the original Doowon cooling coil and 5,200 for a replacement cooling coil (UCM brand made in malaysia). I opted for the latter, because of tight budget. There is hardly any difference between Doowon and UCM with respect to cooling capacity except the price.
However, when i inquired at Goodgear, the original Doowon cooling coil costs 3,800 pesos only, nataga ako ng aircon shop na napuntahan ko, a shop that is highly recommended in this site
I also replaced my drier/reciever which i get at 1,200 at the aircon shop as compared to the 750 pesos at goodgear (oem mobis).
It really pays to know the price of parts to be replaced before you have your rides fixed para hindi tayo maloko.

Also want to share with you that I just registered my ride today and passed the emission test with a opacity rating of .28%. The technician at the emission center that we went to, was quite surprised that we've passed the test with flying colors! Kasi sabi niya most of the carnival & sedona na natest niya had problems with their emissions.
My carnival is running on a 2% biodiesel blend since june last year and had my intake manifold & muffler cleaned para siguradong pasado sa emission test.

Thanks for the heads up, jabr. I'll probably be stocking up on spare parts next time I visit QC. I just used my last OEM air filter for my 155,000-km PMS last week. I think I'll need to buy some front suspension parts too, though I still need to have my ride inspected to see what needs to be replaced, if ever. I hear a squeeking noise coming from the front of the vehicle when I pass over bumps.
Parusa kasi yung daan dito sa Urdaneta --hanggang ngayon di pa rin tapos

March 5th, 2007 10:55 PM #1600is mikey's unit with the highest odometer/mileage readings among the carnivals/sedonas here? I think it would be a contest between Mikey and diesoline? Sa akin kasi, 45K pa lang. The point in my asking, what is the mileage of our ride, and what's the condition of the engine, assuming di pa dumaan maski top overhaul. Pwede na injection calibration, but want to see how durable our engines are.
