Sorry guys but I don't see why buyer's want to advance money to the dealers specially as a form of reservation fee?

Dealers already gets term conditions from the auto manufacturer even for at least 60 days.

When buyers advance money to the dealer, the dealer will just use the money to generate more money for themselves. In this case, 6 months worth of additional income.

P300K placed in a income generating venture or high interest bearing deposit can yield significantly for 180 days.

If buyers are willing to wait 180 days for a unit to arrive, might as well wait without giving your money away and take control of your money as a form of leverage against dealers and not the other way around.

Local buyers should learn to have a collective effort to put more consumer muscle than being preyed upon by opportunistic auto dealers.

Remember this is only Kia not a luxury brand marquee.

    Just my two cents.

As SM said...the reservation fee is the discount. like the 4x2 (7seater) unit price will be 1.390K..... regular price, if so true it will be 1.690K -- this i really doubt if kia can sell sorento 4x2 (7seater) at this price. Ano ba katumbas ng kia sorento sa market and ano ang price range?

From my understanding of auto sales, dealers are provided with an MSRP (Manufacturer Suggested Retail Price) which they front to the buyer as actual item price or tag price. The dealers are required to pay the unit(s) based on floating gross invoice rate. The spread between the two is the haggle area where the dealer will try to capture as much profit as they can. Plus they get more by over-pricing add-on accessories and services, commission from in-house financing, commission from insurance, etc.

However, the invoice rate is not absolute since the dealers get various manufacturers incentives and periodic (monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and annual) sales quota rebates from the same manufacturer. So the actual invoice is way much smaller than what really is stated on paper.

The discount as they claim, is actually a gimmick to entice attention. Getting advance payment from the buyer is really a win-win for the dealer not the buyer.

para sa mga koreano yan. the koreans almost own half of the ortigas-based condos with that scheme. now kia is offering the same scheme to the korean nationals. i have been constantly wondering how the Koreans here have so much money to invest.

if the rich fil-chinese community will do the same with the number of chinese manufacturers avail in mainland, mas okey sana. baka gumanda pa ang marketing and service ng chinese cars dito.

Thanks a lot!.... i guess the 4x2 (7seater) would actually be selling at 1.4M++ and 4x2 (5seater) would be 1.3M++. Grabe 'tong mga koreans...ginogoyo pa tayo....kawawanaman talaga lagi tayong mga pinoys. Bat ba kasi pinas pa ang napili nilang 2nd home

Here's a primer on a 2011 Kia Sorento. Source Yahoo Auto.
    http://autos.yahoo.com/2011_kia_sorento_ex_v6_4x4/

The top of the line trim level, EX V6 4X4 7 seater gas variant:
    MSRP is $28,895 or P1,306.631.90 (assuming $1 = P45.22)
    Dealer's Invoice is $27,390 or P1,238,575.80

Wait, there is more. Kia motors is giving away $1,000.00 cash back rebate on this model and 0% interest for 24 months.

I wonder why KIA Philippines would like to collect P300k in advance for an obviously over-priced vehicle where in the US, KIA gives customers $1,000 back just to get them some sales?

Talagang malaki ang pinagkaiba ng presyo dito sa pilipinas keysa dyan sa america. Hindi lang sa kaso ng KIA kundi ganoon din sa ibang brand e.g. honda, toyota, etc. Just compare the price of toyota prius there & here. Even with honda fit (honda jazz here) magugulat ka kung gaano kamahal dito sa pilipinas.

    Hellowww,

My daughter & I inclined for the Kia Sorento as our next member in our family , I like the features & good rapports but the pre selling offer of P300K as down payment makes us full astern, so we narrowed our choice to either montero sport 2.5 or hyundai tucson crdi. attitude problem it is.
