Has anyone got a good step sill/scuff plate for the Carnival?

Been around 2 months since we got the 11 seater with current odo reading of around 8000 km. We have been using this as a family car carrying 6 to 7 full sized adults, as well as chauffeur driven with 1 pasenger. My experiences so far:

1. Ride quality is quite good. Not executive sedan level of plushness, but definitely better than any of the PPVs. Bounces off a little bit when ridden with 1 passenger, but definitely not harsh. Settles nicely when loaded with 5 to 6 people.

2. Passenger space is great. The 3rd row space almost as livable as the 2nd row.

3. The body is quite wide (almost 2m iirc), so it needs some getting used to when driving especially around town.

4. Based on what I've been seeing, fc is at par with diesel PPVs. I got maximum of 18.6km/L pure highway, around 10-11km/L mixed, 8km/L city with ligh traffic.

5. We once squeezed in 4 full-sized luggage, 2 medium sized luggage, 3 hand carry bags along with 6 passengers.

Overall, no regrets so far having this one. Couldn't imagine myself riding in the 3rd row of any PPVs (or any other SUVs) after experiencing this one. Haha

Did you remove the 4th row seat? I agree with most of your observations. Except the leg room of the 2nd and 3rd rows. Seats can't be pushed further back. I've never ridden at the back rows, but I can't imagine staying there for a long trip.
Although a little better than 7 seater suvs, it's nowhere near as spacious as the starex. My max fc is around 13km/l, 70%highway and 30% city. It goes down to 5km/l pure city driving.

No we didn't. We needed a flat cargo space for hauling large luggages. Does taking one off affect the ride and fc?

Yes compared to Starex, it has definitely has less space. Especially with the 3 row starex with movable 3rd row, that thing will have massive space when pushed all the way back. But I felt that 3rd row seat design of the Carnival (except for the jump seat) is better. I'm 5'6, so it's perfectly fine for me sitting back there with enough knee and toe room to spare.

I don't think it has any effect on fc. Although that 4th row is really heavy. I had mine removed for more storage space. It took 3 people to lift it out. The 2nd row of the starex also has more space. I can fit my kids' large school bags in the space between the front and second seats without any problem. In the carnival however. It won't fit no matter what position hehe.
3rd row of the starex has the same seats as the 2nd row (in the gray market version).

That variant of Starex would have been great. How is the performance of Starex compared to our Carnival？

Saw the 11-seater Grand Carnival on display at Alabang Town Center over the weekend. With a price increase of 300k (now selling at P2,095,000) even without excise taxes, I think Kia made the wrong move here. I was considering this as a replacement to our 10-year old Fortuner. Now, they made my decision easier.

It's almost as expensive as a Toyota Super Grandia. They could've sold a lot of Carnivals if they kept the price around 1.7-1.8m. I don't know what the Kia execs were thinking.
