bad news.

looks like we have to delay our sorento purchase. the dealer cannot give me a definite answer when they can deliver the unit. but we need a car now. looks like it will be from another maker.

any news on availability of the tucson cdri a/t or honda crv? can they deliver within the next few days? decided to get a compact suv for my wife first and the sorento to follow when we have enough cash.

I checked the KIA website and this is what they claim :

so for the Sorento with the 2.2 R CRDI engine :
M/T is 6.6L/100km = 15.15 km/li.
A/T is 7.4L/100km = 13.51 km/li.

I haven't taken my Sorento on an out-of-town trip yet.
Are any of you guys getting these sort of numbers?
My best mileage for city-driving is just 13.4L/100km (7.47 km/li.)

I brought my sorento (2.2 liter, a/t) to Manaoag yesterday. I was able to achieve a reading of 6.7liters/ 100 km. I double checked it with my manual computation ( setting "trip b" to zero and filling it fulltank then compute the amount of diesel used against trip travelled) its pretty much the same. Give or take a few tenths of a liter.

Sarap gamitin. The cruise control is heaven sent for long drives. Especially sa SCTEX and NLEX. The ride is so smooth. The engine is so powerful and refined ( well siguro kasi bago pa). I use to admire the power of the Kia carens, but this sorento is definitely better. ( mas tipid lang ang carens sa long drive, 22 km/liter)

Don't despair if you are getting 13.4 liters / 100 kms in city driving, I use to register between 11 and 13 liters/ 100 km too, depending on the traffic condition.

Koji sayang antayin mo na. Try calling Wheels Sto Domingo along Quezon Avenue and look for Ate Violy Cuevas. I also had the same problem before. I was able to get it from her, around 1 week waiting.

Try mo lang, kung wala then thats it. Nanghihinayang lang ako if you will let go of it. I believe its worth the wait. Ask for a discount. A hefty one.

alabang ang pinaka malapit na hyundai branch samin. anyway, sent PM to your SA, si EJ. nag inquire kami sa isang hyundai dealer by phone, sabi 2-3months waiting daw. nagulat kami ni misis.

thanks! will try to call her and see what happens. gusto ko talaga sorento. pero we need a car na agad. latest offer nila sakin petrol ex 4x2. i'm thinking and computing kung sulit in the long run. considering the additional discount given on the petrol model and the operating cost of both.
