February 17th, 2010 06:00 PM #3681hello, interesado kami dito sa carens kasi 7-seater sya. ito quotations sa amin ng isa sa mga kia agents.
option 1: 50k downpayment (from 250k+ due to promo daw kasi)
22k+ monthly amortization for 60 months
free: LTO, insurance, chattel mortgage, tint, matting
*23% interest based sa computation ko
option 2: 30% downpayment * 0 interest (380k+ cashout)
22k+ monthly amortization for 36 months
free: LTO, insurance, chattel mortgage, tint, matting
*250k+ ang mase-save namin after 36 months compared sa option 1.
ok ba yung quotations sa amin? parang gusto namin option 2 kasi malaki din savings from the interest. kaya lang medyo mabigat yung 380k cashout.
isa pa pala namin option ay yung hyundai tucson ix. halos same lang din SRP pero nasa 168k downpayment + 60 months amortization and 5 seater lang sya.

Maganda yung option 1 sir..mababa yung 23% na interest for 60 months.. Pero ang bottom line is, choose one which would fit your current financial capacity/capability..
Marami na ring mga Carens owners dito..you won't be disappointed with the performance and other value added functionalities.. So far, wala pang major issue or concern with regards to the engine and other related stuffs
Ganda rin ng Tucson ix..For that same price, you get a more modern exterior and an SUV at that .. pero kung ito ang choice mo, you might want to wait for the CRDi version if you want practicality and power
Otherwise, the carens, being a 7-seater CRDi powered machine is also a practical choice. It's just disappointing that they had to price it above 1m
Good luck on your choice.Last edited by Hanren; February 17th, 2010 at 08:43 PM.

For me its option 2, but as what sir hanren said, it depends on your financial capability.
Di ka magsisisi sa kia carens, lakas ng engine for only 2.0liter, mine is going 3yrs na, problem encountered is only the egr but the casa cleaned it last yr and till now no problem sa egr.

February 19th, 2010 09:01 AM #3685Hi guys, just to update you on my woes on my Ondoy / insurance claim on my Carens. It's been five months since Ondoy and I still haven't received my Carens from the shop yet. I last talked with Kia Pasig around two weeks ago and they said that repairs on the car are almost finished and they will road test it immediately so that it could be released to me 2nd week of February. It's now the 3rd week of February and still no new updates.
Worse, their status report to the insurance company came with the proviso saying that all parts not replaced will no longer be covered by warranty. The first thing that popped in my head was "What the f*#*?". But, I guess I really cant blame Kia for that kasi their repair/replacement estimate was close to P600K but the insurance company only approved around P360K. As a result, Kia had to make tough choices on which parts should really be replaced and which parts could work if only repaired and/or cleaned.
In any case, I complained to the insurance company but they kept on saying that the car would be roadworthy and if and when anything goes wrong with it in the future and it could be proven that it was flood-related, then it would still be covered by insurance. Unfortunately, even Kia admitted that it would be hard to prove that any new defect that would manifest later on would be flood-related. More importantly in my mind, I don't want to be cruising down a highway with my family in tow and then the car would suddenly die on me simply because a part that was supposed to be replaced was not replaced. In short, inaway ko ulit yung insurance company and even asked our top officers (my car is under a company car plan) to intervene. With their intervention, I hope that the insurance company either approves the replacement of ALL parts that need to be replaced OR declares it as a total loss.
Sigh.... this was a very big and long rollercoaster ride for me... I had my fun with the awesome awesome Carens but if things turn out the way I anticipate it would, I might end up saying goodbye to the Carens and hello to something new....
I'll keep you posted guys...

Sorry to hear that sir, well sometimes di mo rin masisi ang insurance company kasi minsan ang casa ay sumosobra din sa pag quote ng mga parts to be replaced, i for example experience this nung nabangga nung carens ko, the casa quoted that the whole right side panel of my carens to be replaced kaya umabot ng 70k plus ang total damages, imagine yung rear right side ko lang ang nabangga but they suggest that lahat ng right side panel(that means from the rear to the front panel) ay needed to be replaced, i only knew this kasi i also complained to the insurance company if why they reduced the amount from 70k to 36k, they explained to me that di naman kailangan i replace ang whole right side panel, kailangan lng naman eh paintless dent repair ang nabangga, then it got me thinking, if na approve nga ang 70k, would the casa give me the 34k na difference or will they just pocket it? kasi its really impossible to replace the whole right side panel eh, if they will replace it, they need to cut the whole right side panel from the rear section to the front or hood section then weld it again, eh di naman sila ang factory to do that and they dont have the facility to do it here.

February 21st, 2010 02:53 PM #3690good pm , my carens is a crdi m/t odo reading is 35t km. anyone experiencing pallado during 2nd to 3rd gear shifting when aircond was turned off.
It is more evident when engine was cool, but it also happens when engine is in normal temp. as long as the aircond is turned off. Any advise from you carens owner or especially to dieselude. Thanks
They probably sold so few cars last year that even a 112% increase still hardly makes a change in...
