October 19th, 2009 12:07 PM #3483i've had discussion about this with kia pasig before. this is a (common) misconception. i've read in the manual that PMS schedule is 5000 kms or 6 (not 3) months whichever comes first. i've read it countless times to makes sure, listed under severe driving condition for diesel-fed engines. this was confirmed by Francis of signet. It usually takes us 4-6 months to reach 5000 kms. At one time we only logged 4000++ kms in 6 months so that time i had PMS even if its less than 5K. In short, it's usually the (6) months we followed instead of the mileage. Seldom used din kasi carens namin.
our carens is now 2 years old and has logged in 30000 kms.
i strongly suggest you follow PMS schedules. simply put, if something goes wrong with your carens within the warranty period, columbia can use your "not-following-PMS schedule" as a scape goat for not honoring warranty.

Hello to all the Kia owners out there! Did anyone have their Carens go swimming? Mine went wading up to the top of the wheels. Went to kia but all was ok. I removed the carpet myself and used a dozen Chamois absorbent cloth.
Later it was discovered that the starter was rusted solid and the carbon brush springs were crumbling. A quick removal and a few hours later, good as new! I pity the dozens of Hondas, Toyotas, Mitsubishis, Fords and Izusus that were lined up for repairs here in Mendoza (Otis). They were lined up out to the street like when you see a blockbuster movie.

October 22nd, 2009 10:52 AM #3485good thing naayos na kotse mo. actually we all know the affected cars are not limited by brand. in fact there are some stories of even brand new Santa Fe's and BMW's also a victim of the flooding....
kaawa nga sila. some of us did get lucky to escape it....and just be thankful and helpful to others....

My carens is beginning to be sluggish again
, but compared to the previous incident, di naman mausok, but parang di lng sya responsive when you step on the gas pedal, ipapasok ko yung car ko next wk for my 15000kms PMS. They cant diagnose kung ano ang problema ng carens ko kasi they have no diganostic computer sa casa, nag order pa daw sila and they dont know kung kelan dadating pa dito
...hayzzz
. And also, sabi ng SA that i have to pay a certain fee if they will diagnose my carens, my carens is nearing 2yrs pa lang, d bah under warranty pa ito?
Anyway, meron din bang kinalaman ang brand ng fuel sa pagiging sluggish ng carens ko? kasi dati we are using SHELL diesel and this past dalawang fill-up ay gumamit kami ng SEAOIL biodiesel. Ibabalik ko nga muna sa SHELL sa next fill-up ko and observe ko na lng.Last edited by vinrem; October 23rd, 2009 at 07:59 AM.

My KarenPot (name of my Carens LX CRDi A/T) is about to reach 45,000 kms. already. Got her on November 2007. So far, I haven't encountered any problem caused internally.
Anybody here with more than 45,000 mileage?

October 25th, 2009 09:44 PM #3489bro baka masyado ka na nasasanay sa malakas na hatak ng carens kaya pakiramdam mo sluggish sya... minsan kasi nasasanay tayo kaya parang mahina hatak pero hindi naman talaga nagbabago.. also check your tires baka kulang hangin kaya may dragging sa takbo.. yung carens 08 model nasa 8k kms pa lang natakbo no change sa power at handling

Siguro nga sir yapoy, anyway, on a lighter note hehehehe may binili na akong mga accessories for my carens, i just receive them yesterday, yung mga acce are bumper guard (mobis) and rear load cover, yung rear load cover ay universal lng but it will do the trick, yung cargo liner ndi pa dumating, baka next week pa.
Next ko na oorderin ay door sill scuff plate with led and side door protector chrome garnish like the EX.
Still undecided are side mirror with LED turn signal, if i install this, di ba mag mukhang ricey, what do you think guys?
Yung na cancel ko ay yung tigris emblem and exos transparent fuel door, kasi baka ricey na talaga ang datin.
sir ano po meaning ng No Aftersales?
