My KarenPot is on her way to 42,000 kms. Haven't experienced yet what you've experienced. It's nice to hear your Carens is again in tip-top condition.

Thanks sir j_avonni, it was a relief when my carens was back in tip-top condition, the torque and acceleration was back just like when it was brand new.

Balik naman ako sa china next week, 2wks lang pahinga then back to work nanaman

Hi guys,

My friend bought a 2.0D EX last June 2008. It was ok for a year until July 09 when it suddenly stopped in the middle of NLEX. The diagnosis was a broken turbo(caused daw by a broken air filter which entered the turbo). It was repaired after 3 weeks(tagal dumating ng replacement turbo). Tonight, tumirik nanaman sya infront of Trinoma. Mukhang may problema talaga Carens nya.

Anybody who has experienced this as well? Any pointers on what to do to prevent problems again?

mines ok, btw has ur friend changed his air-intake or done any mods? incl. using low resistance filter like K& N? siguro just keep it clean and ensure when cleaning the air-intake contaminants or other foreign objects don''t fall-off or get into the intake passed the filter (meaning it will go to the engine directly....)

Nope, i havent experienced it, mine was bought nov of 2007, problem lng ng carens ko dati ay yung egr but it was fixed already.

Well thats one of the possible reasons, si biyenan kasi pag mag maneho veeeerrrryyyyy sllllooooooooooooooooooowwwwwwww......hehehehe ihataw ko nga, kaso lagi ko kasing kasama ang pamilya ko eh kaya dahan-dahan din pag maneho ko.

This one is a heartbreaker, and a pocket buster, nabasa ba ang filter element? the stock filter kasi is made of paper if im not mistaken...konting ingat lng sa baha. Mine has logged in more than 30k, except for the aircon that needs regular change of filter and the brakes that locked up (one time lang naman) no headaches with my baby..
Di kaya lemon unit nya? I fervently pray that its not

Sir wiper, nakakatuwa nga ang nangyari, casa ng chevy dito sa bacolod ang nag adjust or nag linis, actually di ko alam kng ano ang ginawa nila, kasi i was in china during that time, biyenan ko ang nagsabi sa akin. Yung story kasi, i had my rear bumper installed sa casa ng kia, and bcoz yung kia dito walang oven, they have to bring my carens sa casa ng chevy to have it repainted there (isa lng owner ng kia and chevy here), nung nandun na, napansin ng mga mechanics na sobrang mausok ang carens, then tinest drive nila, sobrang mahina ang hatak, so they check the egr, that when they decided to have it adjusted daw, nung kunin na ni biyenan, dun nila sinabi na inadjust daw nila ang egr, so far gumanda takbo ng carens ko, bumalik sa dati ang acceleration and wala nang usok, nawala din ang turbo lag.

No modifications done. I'm thinking of changing the stock filters to K&N. This might help prevent the same problem.

It has run for a year without problems. Baka nga nababasa yung air filter. I will have it checked.

Thanks very much for your information. It seems I have same experience with my carens but nosmoke belching. Does your mileage increase after egr cleanup. My mileage now is ranging 7-8 km/l only.
