Hi guys! Here I am again, after yet another long hiatus! So much work has left me little time to really surf the Net these days... although, from what I see here, I noticed that this thread has slowed down somewhat...
Mari, you're based in Subic these days? Hmm... would you know where the courts are in "nearby" Dinalupihan, Bataan? I might have to go there tomorrow actually.
You know what? In the short span of three months that I've had my Carens, I've already clocked in roughly 7,800kms! WOW!Last edited by mqavila; September 4th, 2008 at 03:17 PM.

September 4th, 2008 10:58 PM #2675Hi Vinrem, I installed Platinum in my windshield one piece for P1,100. They quoted me 1,600 for 3M (if I remember correctly) but I opted for Platinum since mas-mura and pinatong ko lang naman sya sa 3M Factory installed Tint. So far its okay pa naman sya.
The store is Vintage (something) infront of AliMall Cubao, I also bought Rain Gutter (P900), Stebel Horn (P850) and Car Cover (P900) sa kanila. Hehe.. Good Luck!

September 5th, 2008 12:39 PM #2677to bluebeard, they charge you Ps 200.00 for the oil, at signet its only Ps 150.00.What brand of oil did they used,is the oil coming from a big drum which read kia sl/ci from Petron.Sana its coming from original plastic container either in 1l or 4l packaging. I hate to say that oil from a drum then sinalen sa plastic container might be contaminated . They might over or under filled. JUst like my case at signet, they undr filled my motor oil.
Its nice you have a free labor. I was charge PS 1500 for my first 5t pms at pasig, standard daw policy ng Kia that theres no free labor at first two pms unlike other Japanese brand.

September 5th, 2008 03:12 PM #2678hi guys,,,re_posting ...para nabura o may nagbura ata nung First Test_Drive post ko last Aug/End....
anyway i test drove a 6MT CrDi version during the Campi sponsored carshow last month...masarap nga i-drive yung Carens as advertised....two things just bothered me.... can other Manual owners validate this?
1. Pulsating feel on the clutch pedal when about 3/4 released...
2. engine quite gutless before 2K RPM....ano kaya workaround dto?
is the 4A/T better in this regard?
thanks in advance & regards,

September 5th, 2008 09:23 PM #2679i also feel that pulsating sa clutch pedal...i also read a post (i dont remember the name) same to that pulsating feel... i don't know if its a problem but as of now the car is running great so i think its ok...
some say there is "turbo lag" noticeable when you step but i think its the engine ECU causing the delay when you step on the pedal.. since its drive by wire (accelerator pedal) the engine ecu seems to control the acceleration (boost) until the engine reaches rpm around 1,500...the ecu controls or protects the engine from sudden surge maybe also to make the engine more efficient and improve combustion during acceleration.. as we all know old school diesel engine, sudden step on the accelerator will produce black smoke...
TRY THIS to your carens with M/T
with the transmission on 1st gear, release the clutch gently from stand still until the vehicle moves.. i have observed the engine to automatically increased its RPM even without stepping on the accelerator...(it seems the engine ecu recognizes the load and adjust accordingly)

sir parakito,
my unit is a manual, never experienced the pulsating clutch..
as to the gutless engine, the turbo lag on the carens is almost negligible. I have driven a number of turbo diesel, and so far this is the most responsive. The turbo spools up a lot quicker.
OT, i have been shopping around for a pick up, test drove a ford ranger, no offense sa owners ng ford ranger pero grabe ang turbo lag, and to think that it already has the VGT type turbo.
sir ano po meaning ng No Aftersales?
