    1. Try diesel from Shell. I've observed that Shell diesel lasts longer than Caltex but I've never tried Petron (give it a try)
    2. Check your air filter. At 10,000km, sobrang dumi na ng air filter, which can degrade engine performance and increase fuel consumption. The Casa will only tell you to replace the filter at 15,000km.
    3. Try a fuel additive. I'm using F2020 (it was featured in TV patrol a month ago), it really improves fuel consumption. You can also try 'Tip Top', this is the offically endorsed additive of Hyundai (marketing guy told me when I was in Kia Mandaluyong), pero mas mahal.
    4. Try to 'stretch' her legs twice a month. Driving at around 160kph * 3,000RPM for around 5 mins should clean engine deposits and will give the VGT a nice workout as well as your heart. Once you can hear the VGT kicking in at high speeds, you'll know what I mean

Realistically, MT will have better FC compared to AT. You just have to manage your expectations. At the start, hirap din ako makaabot ng 10km/liter.
I'm having 14km/l on an M/T 50%city 50% hway. I have a bigger tire though. Recently I have 10km/l on almost pure city driving on a sat pm, cavite coastal road, st lukes medical, las pinas zapote road... grabeng traffic but my FC is still good. taas pa ng setting ng aircon. I think bigger tire do the trick i'm capitalizing the enormous torque

As you all know, my Carens is a white one and I recently noticed that although my car always looks clean... upon closer inspection, I can see lots of small black spects of what I assume to be dust/dirt that seems to be stuck to the car. I'm afraid to try and rub it off for fear of scratching the car... I guess I'm partly to blame here - I don't have time to wash the car myself that often (usually only once a week) so the maid is the one who cleans it every morning... I have a feeling the maid doesn't water down the car first to soften and/or water down the dirt/dust but immediately wipes the car off with a wet rag...

In any case, how do I remove these dirt/dust specks without scratching the paint? Is there some kind of cleaning fluid or whatever that I can buy that can safely remove these by softening them or dissolving them?

It's just irritating since the car looks spotless but I know that there's dirt right there...
    ricky!

most likely nga asphalt yan. i just removed them after the rains.

like rst619 said, i use kerosene or diesel although i prefer the latter since "mas malamig" siya. like using wd40, you leave it for a couple minutes then wipe it off. then wash the panel with water and then do i wash the car with soap just to make sure nothing is left.

yan ang hirap sa puti no?

no problem sir... the increase in radius is just about 10mm... by the way, naka lift a rear suspension ko pero nothing to do naman with FC. IMHO the carens looks better with lifted rear and also iwas sayad na rin...

    Hi guys,

just an update on my FC:

    variant: CRDI LX M/T
    road: mixed city-highway driving
    condition: shifts between 2-2.5 RPM
    Fuel: Petron Dieselmax
    FC: 12.557 km/ltr

This is just the first FC I got since shifting to Petron. My previous FC using Shell is 10.6 km/ltr.

Hello fellow carens owners, my friend who owned a Carens EX A/T Gas experience a weird problem on his vehicle.. pag nag shift sa neutral then going back to D ayaw ng umandar yung oto tapos nawawala yung display sa panel na "N" or "D". pag matagal na ka idle at mag shi shift siya from "P" to "D" ayaw din umandar... although intermittent nakaka irita kasi two weeks pa lang yung Carens niya. Daladalhin na ngayon sa Casa sana maayos.. anyone of you guys who experience the same problem?.. another thing pag nalulubak siya parang nag shi shift down at minsan speedometer ayaw umandar.. sana naman hindi lemon yung car...

buti pa kayo enjoy na enjoy nyo mga carens nyo

my carens has no A/C for more than 3 weeks already... a magnetic part on A/C (or is it the compressor) stopped working and needs to be replaced...

the good news is, its covered by warranty...

the bad news, there is no news when the part is coming and its been more than 3 weeks!!!

for those of you feeling that you're A/C is getting weak, you might want to have it checked...

mine got weaker around 15K km mileage, they replaced the filter, then got better...

before hitting 22k km, it got weaker again...filter cleaned on the 22k PMS... A/C still weak... Freon charged and then got better...

before hitting 26k km A/C started to get weak again, in a week's time, i have an oven on wheels...
