i opted to retain the stock tire (205/65R15). Didnt want to sacrifice comfort and risk voiding the warranty on my suspension. Mostly though, didnt want to spend extra dough on new and more expensive tires. The mags cost 30k, give or take a few, depending on your bargaining skills. Im fairly good at it though. Meaning if the dude says 'tapat na', i usually stop begging for a lower price, which is usually what they first say when you ask about the price. heheheh
Ever notice that purchasing alloy wheels with handsome tires make the single most dramatic improvement in a car's looks?

July 6th, 2008 06:42 PM #2182thanks, i also plan to change to mags. I will retain the tire(205x65x15). But the width of the rim will be 6.5 instead of 6.0 . wht should be corret offset. The original offset of the steel rim is 41 and what will be the right offset then.

July 7th, 2008 08:16 AM #2187My brod also wanted to buy a Carens when he saw mine but changed his mind when he saw the Captiva latest prices and better features/ accessories (2 airbags, ABS, 6-disc changer, high ground clearance, etc)
He says: "A 4x2 CRDi model costs P1.299M, add the P28K for the 3rd row seats, equals P1.327M, not that bad actually."
Lookout CAC-KIA!

Hmm... this doesnt bode well for the Carens...
As for the reason why Kia decided to do this, I don't think its because of an increase in manufacturing costs... take a look at the new prices... only the CRDi variants have increased in price while the EX A/T Gas variant still remains at its original price of P1,005,000.00. It stands to reason that if manufacturing costs for the CRDi variants are increasing (thereby justifying an increase in price), the same would go for the gas variant... at least to a certain degree... Then, why is the price of the gas variant constant while the price of the CRDi variant is shooting up?
Does Kia have any valid reason why this is so? Of course, this is other than the fact that the CRDi variants most probably sell much much better than the gas variants...
In other words, the reason why Kia increased its prices is due to the increasing popularity and sellability of their vehicles...

this means that we aren't going to be as BIG a group as we though we would be.... lalong dadami lang ang Innova at Livina sa daan. MONEY is more important than reputation for Columbian... that's all there is to it.
Another blunder for CAC, makes me a bit regretful on my purchase... not with the car per se, but with the company behind it.
They probably sold so few cars last year that even a 112% increase still hardly makes a change in...
