What is your reason for this?

it's not too much as to predispose to premature tire failure.
but i believe it lightens the steering wheel significantly for me.
i read about the 10% years ago, from an authority who i can't seem to remember right now..

Higher tire pressures lead to stiffer rides. But they also have better consumption.
