Can someone knowledgeable here help shed light to me.....

Is a pick-up a race vehicle?
A web definition of a pick-up truck:
"A pickup truck (or pick-up truck or simply pickup) is a light motor vehicle with an open-top rear cargo area (bed) which is almost always separated from the cab to allow for chassis flex when carrying or pulling heavy loads."
..... I don't know if it's just my eyes but I can't seem to find the word "race" in that definition....

May I ask what is your basis to conclude that the ISUZU D-Max is "laos" and the "weakest pick-up in the market". The brochure and it's specifications? Just mere HP rating indicated there? I hope you have more proof to prove this "theory" because I'm not sold with it... nor most of the guys reading this thread.
Oh, since you mentioned it, you give credit to the D-Max for its off-roading capabilities (which you can't do daily) and give so much hype on Navara and Ranger's "TOP SPEED" performance..... i wonder, do you also "race" your pick-up everyday too? I guess not. This is where I drive my point wherein with the D-Max, you get a not-so-impressive 190kph speed (weakest in the market) and an impressive off-roading capabilities. Ain't that getting the best of both worlds?
Lastly, please follow one of the board's simple and basic rule:

May 24th, 2010 04:28 PM #5156I have a 2010 Dmax LS. During the election period I'll squeeze in 10 people in my bed and another 7 in the cabin, to make things worse I'll drive in unpaved roads and steep inclines for 5-6 hours a day with all these 17 people on board for almost a month. I've also driven my pick up * speeds of 190kph, although I was travelling * 160 kph in Albay and a strada effortlessly overtook me - my bed was fully loaded that time with 6 people in the cabin, fair enough! The best part is I still have enough in my tank at the end of the day.

and sir benz, may i add konte sa sinabi mo... kung laos or weakest or pinkaa=pangit ang dmax.. why then you could see new models of other pick up (crdi) brand being towed sa hiways rather than the dmaxes...

Thanks for the added testimonials jgvus and jarhead.
Anyway, I ran across this "LAOS" display of the D-Max from this year's Bangkok Motorshow:
.... and for sure other brands would not have the thought of doing this to their "fashionable" pick-ups.
Oh, thought of sharing this video clip of a "WEAK" Chev/D-Max:
http://www.metacafe.com/w/1328190/
... I bet all other brands can easily (and would have the guts) to do this to their pick-up.

May 25th, 2010 12:57 AM #5159hello. i'm a newbie dmax owner so please bear with me.
i have two questions.
1. i read sa manual you have to step on the clutch before starting the ignition (even if the pickup is on neutral). is it really necessary?
2. when starting daw a deisel engine like dmax, we have to wait several minutes for the engine to get warm before driving it? how long exactly? and gaano katagal di napa andar ang pickup before performing this 'ritual' again?
thanks talaga sa tulong and sorry if medyo 'dumb' ang mga questions ko. if there are also links to websites na me tips how to take proper care of my dmax, i'd really appreciate it.

May 25th, 2010 07:20 AM #5160one of the dumbest post ever :tvcomedy:
weakest pick-up? damn where is your brain.
pick-ups aren't made for speed. have you seen pick ups racing in macapagal? i suggest you go back to elementary, maybe you can contribute a more intelligent post here after. (or maybe you're still in elementary)
