Yup mas maganda spray on para rustproof pero kung may extra money ka you can put both spray on and the drop in bedliner. But since lalagyan mo yan ng lid at di yan open spay on ka na lang.

comparing the spray on bedliner and the drop in?? better ang drop in kc hindi direct contact kahit ano ilagay mo sa likod ng bed.. much protected yun bed.. the only thing sa spray on bedliner is hindi magrust... pwede naman hindi spray on bedliner gamitin, you coudl use a rubberized undercoating to spray on your bed then put on a drop in beldiner... meron naman mura na maganda dyan...iv used the maxliner and its really matibay... dropped a drum on it already and the plastic didnt deform or crack...

January 24th, 2010 09:59 AM #4924I have been using a Carryboy Roller Lid for more than a year already but I haven't experienced that "opening on its own." Please back read this thread and you'll see the pics of my roller lid. If I am not mistaken, that was around August or September 2008. For my personal experience, it has its own pros and cons.
Pros:
- It's so convenient that you don't have to pull and retract it manually (very nice if its raining.)
- You don't need to lock/unlock since there is no other way to open it other than its remote control or the other emergency button.
Cons:
- It doesn't retract all the way to the end. This is so annoying since you couldn't maximize the space of the bed especially if you're hauling long and big stuffs. I think the part that doesn't retract is around 12 inches.
- It's not waterproof. It's not different from my Pace Edwards (not motorized.) So if it's raining, expect that the things you will put there will get if not very wet, just wet.hehe
- Using the remote would take sometime to get to used to. I seldom use the remote. If you press it multiple times, it wouldn't move coz its computer is already confused. Solution is wait for a minute or two.
- Installation would take sooooo long. When I had it installed in mine, they had to change its remote 3x and the computer box 2x, if my mind serves me correctly. It didn't want to work at first. More than a year after, good thing it's still working properly.
- If its mechanism malfunctions, I don't think you could open it anymore.
Verdict:
If you want to impress others and you're not into hauling big stuffs, you could consider the roller lid. Otherwise, try reconsidering other models. If my roller lid gets broken, I would rather choose Pace Edwards or something that is not roller lid, which I am using in my other truck, than the Carryboy Roller Lid.
For the spray on bedliner vs drop in bedliner, they said that the spray on is better since it is directly in contact with the bed. Whereas to drop in, time will come that rust might build up in the bed. Someone just told me that, I could only speak for spray on bedliner since that is what I am using in my pickups. So far so good.

January 26th, 2010 10:57 PM #4927TURNING RADIUS. Is there a way to improve the turning radius of our d-max? I find there are certain streets I can take a u-turn with just "one click" on my other car, a hyundai tucson. While I either have to compensate or I need to do a two point u-turn. Other than that, I am very happy with my 5 year old d-max 4x2 M/T LS. It's a really reliable workhorse.
