Don't be misled. Mine LS model A/T 4x4 but not crdi mixed driving hi-way and city driving averages 8 kms/li. I really dont believe those owners claiming 12 up even on M/T tranny or per company's promo! And I don't consider either the FC and speed in buying this truck. It's all about durability and toughness.
Hope it helps.

November 20th, 2008 07:55 PM #4325I don't belive those claim by sales agents and fuel economy run conducted by the company. But I do have personal experience with the economic fuel consumption of Isuzu
Sir my brother's trooper runs about 10kms/liter and his crosswind runs about 12kms/liter city driving, same case for my GF's crosswind. I think its possible, I've driven their isuzu alread and I got the same results as they claim
I didn't know that Dmax has the non crdi version. Is this the first Dmax back in 2005?
Thanks!

Sorry to disagree juneljrGLS'05. Mine is a '05 manual 4x2 and the first time I ran it on its break-in period from Dumaguete to Bacolod (four hour trip), running below 80 kph all the way, incredible as it may seem --it hit 17 km/liter! That's four of us with luggage good for a two-day stay.
Of course after that, with my heavy foot averaging about 100 to 120 kph on our small provincial roads its safe to say that it still averages 12 to 13 km/liter on h-ways. Not bad for a 3 year old non crdi, 3.0 diesel engine. Sa city driving, I would agree with you though--about 8 to 9 km/liter
Compared with the new crdi Dmax engine? I would assume the new one to be better (fuel consumption) by at least 5%

November 21st, 2008 12:40 AM #4328When I went in my province, I checked it when I arrived in my destination, it registered 12.3 or 12.5. When I arrive home and I happen to check the reading, it registers the same. With that, I assume that reading is for both highway and city. What I do is always reset the Trip reading and gauge the km reading. The most that I had was the break in period. If I could remember it clearly, it even reached more than 1000+ kms in 1 full tank. I couldn't do it anymore, though.

I have a friend that claims that his new Dmax 4x4 with turbo-intercooler can run 40 km/L in a Isuzu sponsored econo-run compitition in Bacolod. And said its the record holder daw in Philippines....
anybody can confirm kung may ganito ba talaga na compitition?.. and is that possible 40+Km/L sa new Dmax? if its true the
Couldn't have explained it better myself. This was the point I was making. They (either manually or...
