August 30th, 2008 04:18 PM #4051*Denver Max: Sir, I guess you're the 3rd 08 Dmax owner who experienced it. We have exactly the same experience. The thing is nothing happens to the car when it sounds and as for me, it only happens once in a day and I don't have any idea when it will sound. We're looking forward to what your SA will tell since my SA was no help coz I couldn't exactly pinpoint where the sound is coming from and it didn't sound when I had it serviced. The car already traveled more or less 170 kms of city driving since the last time it sounded and so far I haven't heard it since.
*rasta: Good for you, sir, that sound didn't occur. As for me, my truck has been with me for almost 1 month now and it has traveled more than 2500 kms, so far I don't have any problems with it. Just a few but tolerable squeaking sounds in the leafspring, other than that, it's all good. I also had my wheel aligned in my 1st PMS since mine was also pulling to the right.

August 30th, 2008 07:41 PM #4052hi guys...
Finally, I got my most awaited Tornado Red Dmax last 08-28-2008. I hope it will bring some luck.
I just have noticed the following; I am hoping na mabigyan nyo po ako ng inputs.
1. I tried to drive it below 70 kmph. Is it normal? first time ko kasi magka pick up.
Ganun ba talaga to?
I will ask my dealer next week , at least magkarun ako ng idea before informing them.
By the way, bago ko kinuha to, pinakabitan ko ng turbo timer sa casa. I hope this will help .
Thanks

August 30th, 2008 08:05 PM #40531, 2, & 3 - ibalik mo sa casa for reklamo. merun plastic na cover lahat ng bolts ang 2004 model ko (so no reason na wala ang 2008 model). yung kabig means hindi aligned... unless magkaiba ang inflation ng tire mo sa front or tabingi ang road na pinagtestingan mo.
my 2004 doesn't have those door light indicators sa dash...so i don't know... but better ask the casa.

Sir, we have the same color but I bought it last August 31, 2008. Who is your dealer? Mine is Isuzu Q. Ave. As for your questions:
For the pulling to the right issue, I experienced that with mine too. I just had the wheel aligned during my 1st PMS. But before bringing it to your dealer, maybe check your tire pressure first since maybe it's the one causing it.
Could you please tell me what are "Bolts sa Front Seats"?
Our Dmax doesn't have that door indicator light. What I do is I put the light on the ceiling to "Door" just for me to know if a door is open.

Awesome sound, heheh.
Thanks sir rna800, but I don't have ABS, mine's only a 2005 LX A/T. My SA said it could be uneven brake shoes. They tried to sand them down and the pulsation became less noticeable, but after a couple thousand kms it's back.I don't pump the brake pedal either, I just operate it as I would any car. Could it be the tires? I'm considering changing them, I find the stock tires slippery on asphalt specially when it rains.
I heard a strange sound in my max too, turns out it was only the engine cover that came loose. One of the bolts wasn't fastened properly by the people who detailed the engine. Tsk tsk.
On paper the Navara should beat out all other 4x2's in straight line acceleration and top speed. Like the Ranger it has 5 speed A/T, but the most torque and the narrowest tires (205 vs 245 for all the rest). It's also closer to the ground. It should be fun to race with other pickups though. Haven't had the chance to try this yet.

August 31st, 2008 07:08 PM #4056as i would have seen it (navara) in action, sa high RPM lang mo siya makikitang mabilis. it went pass me while running 160kph... so probably it can do as high as 180kph. dmax is rpm was near 4K during that time.
pero tingin ko (opinion ko lang) parang hindi siya as stable as the dmax at high speed...probably because of the narrow wheels?!?

August 31st, 2008 11:50 PM #4057I would like to correct myself in my last post. I got my unit last July 31 and not Aug. 31. For the sound that I mentioned prior, I thought it's already gone, but I was wrong. It sounded 2x today, after more than a week of not sounding! Anyways...
*Wh1stl3r: Sir, as much as I would like to help you, I am sorry to say that I am not mechanically gifted.hehe But if you're in the QC area, I know a good auto shop that I could recommend. Or just wait until the gurus of this thread reply.
For the strange sound that you heard in your Dmax, how does that sound? I just don't know how to put it in writing but, with mine, it sounds like kkrrarrrrr with an echo. It's like a rubber or spring that gets loose.
Yup, sometimes it's fun to race with other pickups especially if the distance is not that far wherein just a little mistake with the gear and it could overtake you.
*wildthing: I saw in the Navara forum that an owner there has reached that speed and he felt that the truck could still give more, something like that. That is really a wow! I couldn't imagine running 180 kph while driving a truck.
Stability issue, I haven't ridden in a Navara so I don't have any idea. For Dmax, my fastest speed was 120 so I couldn't really tell if it's stable at high speeds.

By the way, dito po ako sa Cebu. I got my unit from Isuzu-Mandaue.
Thanks po in advance..god bless

I've driven a Navara a/t sir, lent to me by a friend. I think it can go well beyond 180kph if we're just talking about the engine and transmission. But you are right, driving at 180kph with those small tires is way too dangerous, it'll probably scare the pants off me.But then again, a tire change to a bigger size would be easy. I'm not so sure if the suspension can handle that speed.

The sound mine made was just like a busted shock absorber kalampag. I'm sorry I don't believe I've heard anything like you have in your unit. Does it happen when the truck is idling? Maybe if you could post the sound on you tube and paste the link here someone might recognize it.
Another weird thing comes to mind. Whenever I check the oil level of the engine the dipstick shows that it's always over the maximum level. My SA always tells me that this is ok, that the dmax oil level should always be this way. Is this true?
Also, could anyone recommend a good semi-synthetic engine oil? What grade do you use? Mine feels sluggish with what I currently use. I'd really appreciate it. Thanks.

September 1st, 2008 08:35 PM #4060if you follow the doors, medyo matatag ang likod. i usually drop the rears by 2 psi (lalo na kung wala akong kargada) so that is 39 psi.
(sa gitna hindi pudpod).... to prevent that, rotate the rear to front every 5K km.
How about 97 LXi?
