i think among the crosswind owners in this forum, whether XTO, XL, XT or the XUV's, yung akin yata ang pinaka farthest driven so far... I just had my 35 th KM PMS; actually almost 36500 km na odometer ko nyayon after only 18 months of ownership. correct me na lang if i'm wrong fellow dieselers
so far ang mga parts na nag fail na are the ff:
    - radiator replaced due to leak -- weak point daw to ng crosswind according to a mechanic i talked with. madalas daw yung sa may pipe going to the engine block nagle-leak. either mahinang klase ang radiator ng Denso or faulty lang talga ang location ng radiator ng crosswind. pansinin nyo yung radiator nyo during idling, during engine start-up and shutdown --have someone crank the engine and watch how the radiator vibrates. ang lakas! kaya di ako magtataka na magkaron ng crack yung pipe going to the engine.

    - exhaust pipe crack - a recent discovery -- akala ko yung mga turbo boosted XTO's lang meron nito. but i recently discovered na may crack na yung exhaust pipe ko just after the engine block. tatlong section yung exhaust pipe natin: "A" daw yung first section - the pipe coming from the engine block tapos meron putol yon followed by the "B" section - yung gitna under the car body just before the muffler- tapos "C" ata yung after the muffler. madalas din daw problema sa mga crosswind to. ang advice sa kin nung mechanic, dapat daw meron pang isang putol yung exhaust pipe, dun sa "B" section, lalagyan nung parang metallic flexible connector - you'll see that in the "A" section. what they did was weld the crack, ala daw stock ng "A" section -- a familiar excuse - but they promised to have it replaced. nakita ko nga na madami silang stock ng "C" section which is the common problem sa turbo-boosted crosswinds.

    - clutch repair kit = yung mga gasket with plunger - this was replaced during my 30 th KM PMS. I don't know if this is part of the regular PMS pero di ko naman nakita dun PMS checklist sa manual. anyway, buti na lang P420 lang yung repair kit.

    - steering has become a bit loose. ewan lang kung dahil sa driving habits ko, pero yung ang sense ko. siguro dahil sa madalas ako malubak. tapos nung pina-align ko sa Goodyear, ok naman daw alignment. what they adjusted was the torsion bar, dahil daw sa di pantay yung height ng left side sa right side. nakita nila to when they compared the gap of my front wheels to the wheel well ( yun ba tawag dun - yung arch bordering your wheels?)
smoke emissions- generally ok pa naman pero parang lumakas yung usok after 30th KM. siguro it is really advisable to have our mufflers cleaned at 30th and have our vehicles recalibrated at 40TH KM.

so from the looks of it, yung mga parts other than the engine that are weak, ang pinakaweakest link ata are the radiator and exhaust pipe.
pag lumampas nako sa 50TH KM - the limit of our warranty, gagawin ko yung suggestion ng mekaniko na palagayan ng additional flexible connector sa exhaust pipe. further suggestions nung mechanic, hanapin nyo na daw lahat ng pwedeng papalitan just before the warranty expires. nabanggit nya rin yung mga gaskets/weatherstrips ng salamin, kaya eto ngayon ang oobserbahan ko.

    hope this helps

Yung changes was made even before I reach 1000 km.

How about yung shock absorber, hindi ba sirain ito?

About tail pipes, last year, parang new year sa inteco, mga crosswind models, pumapasok sa service, hila hila na yang mga tubo :D :D :D

di ba mas ok yun in case of rear collisions? mas protected yung gas tank mo? saka matagtag dun sa likod, baka naman they're just trying to protect the fuel compartment from vibrations? ang ginawa man lang sana nila is to have the spare wheel in a hidden compartment para di naman takaw-nakaw.

about the rear brakes? ano specific problem? nag-i-squeal? sticking? di ba drum brakes sa likod nyan? so far ala namang problema drum brakes ko. ok naman kapit nya.

    to nelany:
shocks? no problem so far. I think they're holding. mapanpansin mo naman yon pag matalbog na yung ride di ba? ano ba stock shocks ng crosswind?

common pala tong ganitong problema across different service centers. baka naman Isuzu Philippines na ang may problema. it seems that they're not quick enough to provide the necessary parts when needed by the customers. part siguro ng cost cutting nila to minimize stocking on spare parts to minmize their stock handling costs. and another thing, mahina yung mg na contract nila na parts manufacturers - flawed yung design nila ng radiators and exhaust pipe. dapat nagparecall na sila by this time.

    rsnald,

Ok nga sa rear end collisions. Pero I think the primary reason why they placed the tank there is for cost cutting.

one more thing, if you can recall what kilometer reading from your odo when the items failed, mas makakatulong sa amin, para ma-anticipate na. thanks ulit.

by the way, after warranty, benta mo na ba unit mo?
