I read in my Meralco bill that CFC will only be allowed up to Dec 2011. It says R-12 (freon) aircon will need to be converted to R-134A.

Is this something new? Or can I assume that my car (bought in 2010) are already compliant?

    ^ I agree.

If you wish to be certain, there should be a sticker under the hood or among the A/C components in the engine compartment stating whether it's using R-12 (otherwise known as the brand "Freon" made by Dupont) or R-134A.

How do I know if my car aircon is CFC free?
