We just couldn't resist giving you this bit of news.

As some of you may know, the all-new Hyundai Santa Fe is very much a highly anticipated model this year, set to replace the 2nd generation Santa Fe that has been on sale since 2006.

If you're excited about the Santa Fe, perhaps the official prices of the upcoming model might be of interest to you. Hyundai will be selling 3 variants across their expanding dealer network.
The starting variant is the Santa Fe 2.2L R-VGT CRDI 4x2 manual transmission will be priced at PhP 1,508,000.
The next variant is the Santa Fe 2.2L R-VGT CRDI 4x2 automatic transmission will cost PhP 1,768,000.
The top of the line variant will be the Santa Fe 2.2L R-VGT CRDI 4x4 automatic transmission, and it will be priced at PhP 2,228,000, bringing it quite close to SUVs in the next highest price range (i.e. the Ford Explorer).

The design of the Santa Fe has been dubbed as 'Storm Edge', a development of the 'Fluidic Sculpture' found in models like the Elantra, Sonata and Tucson. As for specs and equipment, all models will most likely come with the 2.2 liter CRDI Euro II/III engine with 190 metric horsepower (Euro IV and Euro V versions get 197 PS), and will be handled by either a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed automatic. Hyundai has reportedly improved headroom for the 1st row passengers and legroom for 2nd row passengers. Expect the top of the line 4x4 model to come with a sunroof (panoramic?), cruise control, climate control and other niceties, though full details are still officially unavailable.

he cars are reported to be already in the country, but Hyundai Santa Fe sales will officially commence sometime between the 4th week of August and early September.

(The prices are, of course, indicative of the positioning of the all new Santa Fe. Prices may change when sales officially commences -VP ed)
